I love this series. It's so neat to get some insight into Augustin's approach to this piece and amazing how intentional the great players are to each nuance. I think that's what separates the top tier from the merely competent - the degree of intentionality in approach and phrasing. I've gotten to the point where I can tell just from listening whether it's Hadelich, Hahn or Vengerov with this piece. Each has their own take, none "better" than the other - just different. We're so lucky to be living in an era where this insight is so accessible to the world. Thank you, Augustin!

As Augustin is a concertizing virtuoso, he undoubtedly has no time to teach privately - the occasional master class is about all any of them have time for. But these videos are fantastic, and about as close as most of us can get to being in the same room with him! A blessing, I think!
