'Hometown'

This is Saranda, Albania's southernmost city. A popular tourist location, by the way. Not really my 'hometown', although I'm closely related to it.

The idea of this composition was one of something more than 'tourist city'. It had to reflect the changes made (housing/building boom, and the like), the 'behind the scenes' reality, the memories of 'old times', the other seasons (autumn, winter, spring - not just the 'usual summer'), etc.

Anyway, it turned out to be somehow 'tender' (and, in my opinion, somehow 'melancholic') in character.

It's likely there are some errors in the musical harmony/structure, etc. Anyway, I'm still in the process of learning...
