I come from Ben Tre, known as a land of the Coconut. It’s located in the area of Southern Vietnam. Ben Tre is famous for coconut candies, coconut handicraft products as well as tropical fruit orchards. I’ve lived there for about 18 years since I started unversity. Ben Tre is a sleepy place with the fresh air and the green space to relax. It’s small enough that you can get to know your neighbours and have a sense of community. Moreover, the cost of living is quite low, to be honest. I think that’s why I love living in Ben Tre. But sometimes I find it a bit boring because there’s not much nightlife. Ben Tre hasn’t changed much in the last ten years, although there are certainly more and more tourists these days.

I am from Karachi. Its the largest city of Pakistan. I have been living here since i was a child and here’s a huge change since the last decade. The city has grown drastically due to its commercial value. People come to work here from all over the country. I like to live here because there’s always something going on. Nightlife is quite good and the food streets are open overnight. I think I will not feel relax staying out of my Home city.

Gina, you make the classes very enjoyable. You speak slowly, it's vital for me. Thank you

Thank you Gina for this concise and well led lesson. As an ESL/EFL teacher, I prefer to teach it first, as paragraph writing lesson and after I can ask my leaners to describe individually other towns, villages... they are familiar with. Of course it will take time to get all the students perform . Anyway that's honestly a good subject!

I was born and grew up in a small village in Phu Tho province located in Northern Vietnam. I really like living in Phu Tho because of its beauty. It's surrounded by many mountains and fields. If you need a break, it can easily drive to the moutains nearby and find a quite place to relax. It's also small enough that you can get to know your neighbours and have a sense of community. People here are so kind and helpful. They're willing to help others whenever someone has trouble so I feel like I'm living in a big family. Phu Tho's nice but I find it a bit boring. There aren't many places to go as well as not much nightlife, sometimes I feel a bit cut off from the wider life. In fact, it doesn't suit the young to live. In addition, it's seriously cold in winter.
My hometown has changed a lot compared to 20 or 30 years ago. There are more high buildings, factories, schools, and so on instead of rivers and moutains. You can't imagine when you see some old photos of my hometown. Things are so different!

I live in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. This amazing city is between the mountains and sea. I like this city because it has a beautiful blue sky, warm climate and we can see the nature almost every neighborhood. There are many landscapes and the most incredible are Christ the Redeemer, Botanical Garden and the beaches like Barra, Copacabana and Ipanema, however I could make a list with other landmarks include the Tijuca Forest (Tijuca National Park) and their waterfalls. Rio de Janeiro changes a lot last twenty years and this wasn’t good, in my opinion, because it grew up disorganized. Today it is crowded and the public transport don’t operate perfectly. Rio de Janeiro is an incredible city to visit but doesn’t live.

I live in Ho Chi Minh city. It's located in South East Vietnam and also called as Saigon. I’ve lived here all my life and I quite like it because It's a bustling and real 24-hour city. People from all over Vietnam live and work there, so it’s got such a rich culture.

Ho Chi Minh city ’s an exciting place, but it’s really crowded and it can be sometimes stressful to live there. Traffic jams and air pollution are issues make me exhausted, particularly during rush hours.

Ho Chi Minh city is the economic center of Vietnam, so it's developed rapidly. It's almost unrecognizable compared to twenty or thirty years ago. The city has expanded so much, both physically and economically. It’s amazing when you see old photos of the city; things are so different now! There are certainly more and more tourists these days! It's so great and I love it.

I was born in Huong Son, Ha Noi. I’ve lived there about 18 years and when I was 18, I moved on the capital city to study in a colleage. Huong Son is a pretty small village, it’s very famous for its landscapes, especially Huong Pagoda, this is biggest and longest festival in Viet Nam. In the spring, Huong Son become a place extremely bustling because people from over the country come here to attend Huong Pagoda Festival. The rest of seasons in year, my hometown is a sleepy place, air quality is so good, there are a lot of green tree, people is really hard and friendly. Although I love my village so much, sometimes I find it little bit boring because there isn’t much more activities for younger and older, even I feel a bit cut off from the wider world. Nevermind, this place is acctually worth it for me.

Hi, welcome to my hometown. I Live in Yangon which is the commercial city of Myanmar. I live in downtown in a three room flat on the first floor with my sibling. I love living in Yangon for it's a huge, bustling ang international city. My city is famous for it's landmarks such as Shwedagon, Sule and Botahtaung pagodas. It's a great place to live. There is so much great food everywhere. There is a lot of shopping malls, theraters, sport centers, museums, schools, universities. Yangon is impressive to live, but the living cost is really high. That can be quite stressful. And also air quantity can be an issue, especially, in the summer. It has changed a lot in the 10 years, things are so different now. I love my city and I''ve grown up here since I was a baby.

Thanks Gina

As I’ve been living here in Venice for many years, I consider it as my hometown. It is a floating city situated in the north of Italy and known for its extraordinary arts and architecture, as well as the quaint maze canals linked by bridges.
This romantic city is a Unesco world heritage sites that comprises its lagoon, its islands and the S-shaped Grand Canal overlooked by elegand palaces. Famous attractions are the largest square, St. Mark’s square, the Doge’s Palace and other historic buildings.

Living in Venice really suits me. It feels like I’m living in an ancient time with its facinating churches and art galleries. It’s got such a rich culture and has a sense of history. This is the only city on Earth where tourists can use a boat instead of car where they can take a picture while admiring the breathtaking view.
As a touristic city, the cost of living is high. That can be quite stressful because you’re always thinking about money and how to make ends meet. Humid can be an issue in particularly in the summer and cabln be exhausting to live.

You can get to meet other people from different countries but it’s a bit tough to find real friends because tourists just come and leave.

Venice has changed a lot in the past few years. It’s much less tourists than it used to be due to the outbreak of Covid-19. Most of the establishments are close in this period as well as restaurants and big hotels.
However, the floating city is still there. It will soon back to normal.

I live in Alexandria, it is a city on the Mediterranean sea coast.Alexandria is considered the second capital of Egypt and one of the biggest ports in it.It was founded by a Greek emperor called Alexander the great before Christ. Alexandria has a wonderful weather and beautiful natural scenes due to its location. A lot of people come from all around the world to enjoy its weather and watch its landmarks.Besides its economical importance, it has a cultural one. Bibliotheca Alexandria is one of the most popular landmarks in Alexandria, it contain different books from different countries in many languages. In fifties Alexandria was a model example for cosmopolitan city, Greeks, Italians, British and even Syrian people lived in it.Alexandrian people are really humble, warm and life loving .Many Egyptian artists arose in Alexandria for that reason they prefer holding cultural and artistic events in it in addition to movie shooting.Alexandria is wonderful, I hope that people will visit it and they will never regret this decision.
