upgrading from Debian 10 to Debian 11 is quite easy, so it doesn't feel like this is not a distro with a rolling release model. I use it for my personal laptop, and quite satisfied. For work in the office, I stick to arch linux. Thank you for the great video as always, Sir...

i've heard of the release of debian 11 the day after i installed my debian 10 home server, and im just surprised on how big a leap debian 10 is from debian 11! also, debian 11 finally has doas!

I really like your videos. I use PoPOS 21.04 and very keen on the news of Manjaro. They recently incorporated btrfs along with ext4. Can you please make a video on making a workable PoPOS environment in btrfs

Hi Ermanno! Nice video but I think it's really strange that you've installed it with a live iso with Calamares. Netiso - Advanced Graphical installation is the way to go with Debian. You can choose your desktop, activate contrib, non-free and backports repositories within that installer. You can even access a shell and tweak the /etc/apt.source.list file. Disable cdrom and do an apt update (you'll get more packages updated once you continue with the installation). I'm running Debian 11 Testing which just became stable with DWM window manager in a VM. It will become my installation on my main hardware real soon (when my holiday kicks in). I really like your videos, I also use Arch but I prefer Debian it's so so good :-). Thanks for all of your insights on Linux. Most of those can be used in most distribution.

I cannot find options in either installer to easily decrypt the partitions without jumping to the shell. Both Yast & Anaconda offer decryption option in the installer, but I don't see anything in Calamares ... Then maybe you have to repair your fstab & cryptab files & chroot to update initramfs too ... Any shortcuts to share?

Ya it is really nice I'm testing it in a VM gave it 2 cores and 4 gb of ram on xfce and I gave it the two extra repositories non contrib and nonfree . It seems like it is actually on hardware. And installed flatpak because I just need a few non Linux programs such as stremio . I love the long term Firefox. Which makes many older add-ons work. Hoping Debian improves aptitude and gives it the abilities to do parrell downloads, and maybe start a usr repo simulator to aur. Debian is one really good server. Hopefully they become a really good desktop os as well

Hello, thank you for this video. I have installed debian xfce on my computer but I don't have vim, there is only vi. I thought vim was installed automatically. Is it that me or you too vim is not installed?
