Obviously the Activision-Blizzard purchase has impacted both the Xbox brand and Sony, with the future of games being in doubt for the PS5. Sony has responded to the purchase, and Phil Spencer reacts to it!

There's something deeply satisfying seeing the company that will maliciously lock down games and extra content behind their own platform through timed exclusivity and buyouts, now basically throwing a tantrum towards a news outlet at the mere prospect of Microsoft making CoD an Xbox only franchise from then forward.

Phil Spencer pretty much said he wants Gamepass on PlayStation. No way Call of Duty comes on PlayStation without being on GamePass

I think this is the begining of the end for physical hardware. Acquiring IPs now and down the road gamepass will be the Netflix of gaming. All cloud based. There is no money in console hardware, and Microsoft known that better than anyone now. Here's my prediction...there might be a console from Sony and Microsoft after this generation... But that'll be it. I'd bet Nintendo will be the last man standing in terms of hardware. Call me crazy if you want. But one day you'll see this comment and go damn, he was right.

Microsoft doesn't need to take CoD off of Playstation to get more people on Xbox. Keep CoD games on Playstation for $70 and include it in GamePass on Xbox. People were mad about MLB The Show because it was free on GamePass. 2 of my friends bought a Series S because of it.

Well I think what they might do is say "Its not exclusive to Xbox, Gamepass is available for other systems such as computers and smartphones..." and the implication is that they will try to get GamePass onto PlayStation and possibly Switch as well. Which would be great for gamers, you only need one system to have all of your games in one place. Well except for Nintendo stuff at least not yet, we will see about that.
