Ken makes a great point at about 23 minutes in, the invention of the internet has been a wonderful tool for mankind to discover many facts that we otherwise may not have found out. We now have the ability to cross check and double check a multitude of sources regarding the reliability of the bible, we can even communicate with experts via email and ask them direct questions. Hail the internet!

Ken was great, as usual. But what a wonderful translator that woman was too. Props to both!

Until 4 years ago I was one of the believers.. 56 now, wasted too many years believing in and helping finance a hoax. I would really like to relive those years with what I know now.

Ken, good to see a new upload from you. Look forward to more of your own personal videos. Jesus mythicism is a very interesting topic for discussion. Whether a physical Jesus existed or not, I think you and others have proven without doubt that the figure described in the Bible could not have existed as he is portrayed. Keep up the good work!

Ken, why 12 disciples? Is it because ancient Greek drama had a chorus of 12?

I'm still discouraged by the number of people who think Moses was real. Even a sizeable number of believers think that Noah and Adam were real.

The Youtube video had clear sound and plenty of volume. Ken's words are clearly heard.

In just eighteen minutes Ken presented a well-organized, step-by-step outline on the Jesus Historicity issue for the beginner, the professional historian and the Christian theologian. And each step methodically casts a seed of doubt about Jesus' historicity.

Instead of using insulting sarcasm that could anger devout Christian listeners, Ken skillfully injects a tinge of subtle humor that would make even a devout Christian smile.

Instead of Ken's presentation being cut-and-dry, his humor causes EVERY listener to WANT to hear more.

So thinks the listener, "I enjoyed smiling in response to his first paragraph. I wonder if he'll entice me to smile with his next paragraph? I'm curious to hear what he comes up with next."

After four smiles throughout about eleven paragraphs, what was expected to be a cut-and-and dry oration turned out to be an academic yet entertaining proclamation.

The full recording, which included the Greek translator, was valuable because that translator displayed the international interest in the subject matter.

A-1. I enjoyed it. Thank you.

The Christians attempting to debunk Mr. Humphreys are attacking this man's character, not his ideas as outlined in his book.
If Christians are that threatened by Mr. Humphreys and his ideas then it should be a simple task to list all his points and refute them one by one. This could easily then be posted on the internet for all to see. Mr. Humphreys would then have a chance to delineate any errors in the rebuttal. Since this hasn't been done in the 5 years since the appearance of this book my guess is that the facts in the book can not be refuted.

What fun to hear Greek in juxtaposition to KH presenting the very basics of his work and story. Greek. The language (in its Koine version) was the language in which the Christian "canon" of literature was composed. And we hear it. And now we hear the drachma drop.

Religious theater was big business in the 1st century CE. Just look how many ancient theaters there are. Paul was not a drama author, and if it were only up to him, Christianity would never have happened. It was Mark that gave Jesus theater and his Gospel was immensely popular. The play ended with the overturned stone and an empty tomb (Mark 16:9-16:20 were necessarily added later). What happened to the character Jesus after his empty tomb was revealed was left as a mystery for the reader to fill. "Gone with the Wind ended similar with Scarlet O'Hare looking off in the distance saying "after all, tomorrow is another day...". The Gospel of Mark was written by an author in the Jesus company to flesh-out a Man-God miracle worker for a 1st century illiterate audience. And they loved it. The rest is history. The later Gospels were redacted versions of the first. To keep the story alive they added new embellishments and cleared up perceived gaps in the original.

OOOH I understood one word she said. anthropo I need a Greek dictionary and 6 months to figure out this vid! well, good thing Ken was there. HEHEHE Noice vid. OOOH, I heard another word.... theos. wow. I'm on my way to being a Greek scholar!

The understanding that the Jesus character of Mark or "Mark" is a fictional character will eventually become THE best explanation over and above the rest. It explains more of the facts than any other explanation.

As 'Jesus never existed' says, another problem is the fact that pretty much every scholar has dreamed up their own version of the historical Jesus, because there are no firm facts that objectively point to a historical figure consistently . It's extremely improbable that someone so obscure could be so famous, especially with no contemporaneous documentation about his life .
