How to get the clearest audio through your motorcycle helmet - Plugphone

This is an audio mod I did about 6 months and 3000 miles ago and it's still going strong.

I completely agree. I’m searching for something like this. I’m totally surprised it hasn’t been produced already. Army aviation uses CEP’s with flight helmets. It’s the best possible sound and eliminates the noise from inside the aircraft and the sound quality is crystal clear. And the ambient noise inside a UH-60 helicopter is much louder than road noise while riding a motorcycle.

Im an ear plug wearing HD rider with a Sena. My plugs are 33 db reduction. Recently switched to 29 db reduction plug to see if that helped me hear the audio louder but it didnt. Can hear the voice and audio ok but not loud enough to my liking. Your mod with the plug phones is a great idea and I can see it would provide hearing protection and much improved audio. Im going to get the plug phones and simply unplug the 3.5 mm conector to the speakers and then remove the speakers. Then simply plug in the plug phone 3.5 mm connector to the Sena and re route any extra long wire. Once i see it work and love it then ill get serious about making it as pretty as it can be. I currently use a Gt Air 2 helmet bought and installed the Senna that integrates nicely with it. I am yet to successfully use it because my bike is too loud to ride without earplugs and with earplugs in the Senna is virtually useless lol. This is the first solid solution I have found for this dilemma so thank you! I really wish someone produced something like this or at least a Senna device that headphones can plug into directly. I was thinking with how technology is these days that maybe I could find a way to connect my phone to both the Senna AND some bluetooth earplugs. I currently just use the Elgin Rumble earplug bluetooth headphones because I commute 30 minutes to work and have to have some jams playing.

I got the C crane radio, two double a's lasts forty hours at least. I don't charge them but on sundays. Run the cable down the back of my shirt, radio in my pocket. Boss dosent know cause the blue and yellow ones match the things they give out at work. We're required to wear them. Lol

I like the vid. Could the 3.5 mm plug phone connector be simply plugged into the sena or cardo unit directly saving the cutting and soldering? Thanks

Why waste time cutting and soldering when 3.5mm connectors exist? Or have you not heard of Cardo?

Dude, you wasted your time with this vid. It's not a "mod." Smart riders wear earplugs to protect their hearing and can hear helmet speakers just fine. Harley rider, what do ya expect?
