Super fast Mixing

I follow this channel and plastering for beginners. I just plastered my lounge onto brick, old plaster and dry wall with a thistle multifinnish in an 1895 house. It was hard work and not perfect as I have to raise levels around my sockets in two places and an opening for a cabinet (minor edge build up). These channels allowed me as a capable DIYers to do the job after buying an Ox ST speed skim 1200mm a, good OX SS Trowel, a flexi growl and a plastic leg which I didn’t really use….. £200 of tools and £150 materials including extra time - job done and delighted with the result.

nice tip, thanks. I also keep a range of tubs in the van from yogurt pot size up, easy to knock up, with a small tool, just enough bonding to fill one of those annoying little holes electricians and plumbers leave.

Cordless drill, mixing whisk, and zero lumps.

I'm curious if that is properly mixed without lumps ?? Understand it's only bonding, but still...

For part used bags, scissor the top off to a clean line, for tipping, to keep the dust out of your lungs. For small mixes, don’t tip the bag. Instead, use a small coal shovel or a pet food scoop, and keep it with the plaster, inside the part used bag.

Im a bricklayer if i ever need to mix a bit of cement or concrete and dont want to get the mixer dirty i do it in the wheelbarrow and use a rake, makes it so much easier

2 ft slate lath and an old 'podger'.. bike cog welded to a 3ft bar..ohh and a gauging trowel..
