To avoid wasting resin or rubber, you can use clay to fill the area (or just get very close). Then pack the same clay into your measuring cups.

Sometimes it really helps to use a spray dry film lubricant as a mold release.

Vsry cool, can i carve a whole object from eps foam then pour a ilicone mold of it? Shouldnt be a problem right?

Amazing! Thank you! Quick question. I have a large starfish I would like to make a mould of. I’m guessing it’s make out of plaster. Do I need to cover it with Saran Wrap or resin tape to protect it? Not really sure what resin tape is for to be honest. But I have a roll! lol
