I work in a hotel that accepts camping on a field in the season. There is an element of people who buy cheap tents as a disposable item. They make fires and play loud music upsetting the other campers . They leave tents and BBQs behind when they leave . They do leave a mess . Other campers are fine. It's just the few spoil it .

Ive been wild camping in the Lake District for 20+ years, never light fires and always leave no trace, ill be carrying on no matter what the law says.

I really love watching your journey. I lived wild for about 18 months, one of my favourite places was close to Brockweir nr Tintern in the Forest of Dean. We were bang opposite the Abbey on the other side of the Wye . On friday nights they would light up the Abbey & we could wander out to the local pub & back. The locals were so wonderful towards us when our paths crossed, we helped out on local projects when we could do so, helped a local potter convert a kiln to be wood burning, gathered him slip from the banks, fruit picked. When we left you could not tell we had been there.
Respect for your surroundings, kindness & politeness towards locals goes a very long way.
If you don't make waves the sea usually remains calm.
Keep on hopping .❤🙏..

As people we need to make our own trust. Buy spots of land all over the UK and keep it for good people to enjoy freedom in nature.

Same thing happened with drones, a few idiots flew drones near airports, now you need a licence. Wild camping is such a joy, you dont need to light fires, stay out of enclosed areas, stay out of view and leave no trace. Ive wild camped since 1978, never been stopped or moved on. Stay safe ❤🕊

This legislation won't stop me wild camping but you rightly point out that it's about doing it responsibly. Camping sensibly and leaving no trace. You are both a great example of that.

Its all about control. You are free. They do not like that.

You guys talk so much sense! Thank you for these videos! Littering infuriates me so much - it's beyond disrespectful to nature and other people!

Our birthright is to wonder free and unfettered.. These people making these decisions and policies have at least one holiday home and normally in another country.. Seriously

I've been homeless for most of my adult life and all my teenage life. I stay a while and move on. I dont leave my stuff behind it's valuable to me. I may not always have a tent that blends in, but you have to work with gear you have.

when we first went camping we dumped the tent because it ripped but we were young, nowadays i would never do something like that, i love and respect nature.
it was in Fife Scotland.

With a simple stealth camp system you can be basically undetectable, bivy provides bug and spray protection and a leaning tarp/poncho set up is so fast and easy to setup/takedown(just 2 pegs and a Ridgeline). Finally use waterproof containers buried under leaves etc for discrete storage.

When I lived in Scotland the problem I found with campers, vans or tents, were the piles of pooh they left, everywhere. They did not bother to bury it or even cover it up, disgusting.
