Good video! And yes, agreed to all of it. For us, the perks far outweigh the negatives. We will def stick with a motorized for our next one and we are open to a Super C too. 👍 Can’t wait to see what you eventually get! - MJ

Great VIDEO!! You nailed the pro's and cons. We are doing the opposite and moving from a TT to a class A with a towed. The biggest con for a TT or a fifth wheel is the tow vehicle. The tow vehicles that can tow a decent sized TT or fifth wheel are HUGE. So any adventures you take you will be using the truck and parking a huge truck in the city or even a normal parking lot is stressful. We love to adventure so being able to tow a little 4 door car we can zip around in is HUGE for us. We can't wait to see what you pick out for you new rig.

The Class A review was eye opening. Covered things that I never thought of. Safety issues are key. Thanks for sharing.

We've been FT in an older Class A for the last 4 years. Double pane windows help insulate the interior quite a bit, but the best thing we've found to stop the heat and cold from coming through the windshield is Reflectix. It is wonderful; much better than our front curtains. We still draw the curtains to cover our side double pane windows, mostly for privacy, but we don't use our curtains by the windshield - the Reflectix is that good. On our National Tropical, we just cut a standard 4' width of Reflectix the desired length and push it in place. No Velcro or other fasteners are needed as it stays in place perfectly and is just the right size. We slide it out and roll it up for travel as it's light weight and easy to handle and store behind one of our recliners in the slide.

One of the biggest advantages of a MH, as i see it is the ability to use an economical toad. We use the little 4-cylinder Chevy Cobalt SS we already had as our toad. We found a good used hitch and installed the baseplate and wired it ourselves for about a grand. We put more miles on our toad every year than our MH, and we travel from coast to coast every year. The operating costs of a 4-cylinder car is much cheaper than a big diesel tow truck (easier to park too) - and we're not wearing out a tow vehicle using it as an everyday driver. Consider the fuel savings alone of an 8-10mpg diesel guzzling $5+/gallon fuel vs a 30mpg toad sipping <$3/gallon gas. If you drive your 10mpg TV 10k miles a year at $5 a gallon, fuel will cost you $5, 000. My 30mpg toad used the same 10k miles burns under $1, 000 in gas. That's a $4, 000 a year fuel savings alone. Where we're domiciled in LA, registration for my toad is only $30 every 2 years and insurance is under $1, 000 a year for both our motorhome and toad. Other operating costs of an economy car are much less too - from tires, oil & filter changes to major maintenance. The reason I know is I had a diesel truck and was going to buy a trailer to FT in as many do. But right before I was going to go FT the diesel engine dropped a lifter and they wanted $15, 000 just to fix it. I can replace both the V-10 engine in my MH and the 4 cyl engine in my car for less than 1/2 of that. This is why I chose a gas-powered MH.

You don't lose any living space. You spin the chairs around and that area becomes part of your living space. You lose like 2' from the dash. You lose a lot more in a Class C where the front 8' is not usable as living space.

Fivers, Drivers & Draggers...different folks for different strokes. The beauty of the RV world is there is diversity in the rigs that makes it easier to find the rig that fits your plans and goals. Nice job. Happy New Year!

We're totally happy with our travel trailer. We like how small it is. The bed of the truck is free for storing tools, a generator, compressor and more. We saved a ton of money buying it, compared to the other RV types too. We also get about 11.5 MPG. I guess the bottom line is that everybody should really do what works best for them. :)
