How to Remove M2 Macbook Air Keys (cleaning or replacement)

We have a m2 Macbook air 13'' that had some sticky after spill damage from the previous owner, probably some soda or coffee. I don't like crunchy keys that stick down and don't come back up properly so we decided to remove the keys that were damaged, clean them, then reassemble. It was only a few key but we used this as an opportunity to show how to take off all of the types of keys on the keyboard it well worth the repair. It will work for all of m2 macbook airs and macbook pros 13 or 14 inch and 2020 macbook airs with intel (i3, i5) and m1 macbook pro as well as the 2020 macbook pros with intel (i5, i7) with the same keyboard switch design, and it will work similarly with other keyboards you may have to do more digging to how the keys attach to the switch. Cleaning your m2 macbook air keyboard or single keys after a spill could save you the discomfort of crunchy keys and could also save you from having to get a new computer. Hi, do you know how to put back the left arrow key? i managed to take it off but one side cant clip back on.

I followed the instructions, but I did not hear any "clicks." Do I have to lift more? Does it take a lot of force?

Are all of the large keys removable using this method? Such as tab, caps lock, backspace/delete, space bar, and others? Do the keys function perfectly fine after putting them back on?

Is the keyboard the same on MacBook Pro 2024 16 inch as on MacBook Air? I tried but I can not get the keycap unclick. Did not want to force not to brake it.

hello! i removed and installed a few keys on my laptop with your method and my boyfriend on his laptop. out of the three keys we removed, the x key of both of our laptops sunk into the key section. it sits lower than the other keys and i can't press it. a light touch is enough to type x. do you know where the problem might lie? i would appreciate any help. thank you!

Worked great. Removed the salt causing the key to be sticky. Sliding and popping it back on was simple

I have mac air M2 2022 and my 
'delete" button is out its place, I am nor sure how to put it back, any help ?
