You are awesome. I had my portable hard drive problems for a year with exact same issue. There are lot of valuable materials in it that I could not give it up but I almost give up after consulting with Best buy people.... Today, I wanted to see if someone had such same issue, and surprisingly found this video.

I get: Access Denied as you do not have sufficient privileges or

the disk may be locked by another process.
You have to invoke this utility running in elevated mode
and make sure the disk is unlocked.

I have not use this technique as of yet. However, I am told if not careful, using this method "could" wipe out data on your entire external USB drive.

When happens if you have, say, ten (10) directories and two(2) give you the error message of "the file or directory is corrupted and unreadable"? Would you still use the same method? Your thoughts.

Hi, I tried this but it doesn't work for my USB flash drive. After I input the command, it is written "the type of the file system is FAT32"
