Im really strong, but I probably look stronger than I am, so when people see me struggling on a set and the weight isn’t super heavy, they give me weird looks. But who cares! I’m making gains!

Agreed. I want to find the heaviest weight I can get a good set on at my current strength.

Strength can vary day to day and based on how far you are in your workout.

While Sometimes you need to say I’ve been stuck at 60 pounds for awhile I need to go up for progressive overload even if there’s some uncomfortability with that weight.

But sometimes you should focus on what weight is gonna give you the best set right now. If your training hard progressive overload will happen naturally you don’t need to track or worry about what you did last time.

What I do to find my weight is relax and turn off my music and then do 1 rep of a very heavy weight. If I get it up easy I increase the weight. If I have to seriously break form to get it up or can’t I decrease it a bit. If it just barely goes up that’s my weight. Then I turn on my music and get hype and do as many as I can. 7-13 is the range

You can calculate a given load for whatever rep range you're targeting by lifting any load to failure and then doing some simple math to find %RM based on the load and reps, and adjust for your target rep range.

Mine is 15. But for awhile I counted reps by combined total, so 30. Recently realized it’s important to keep track of the reps for each side. I know. Amateur hour. Hey Sam, what do you think about beta?

I can only get 1 breath per word so my goal is 10 breathes per 10 words or 15 or 20

Would it be better if I went for 8 reps of a higher weight or 12+ of a lower weight

Sign when ur overtraining… “there must be some weight you can do at least 12 reps on”. I have never done 12 reps in my life of any set of any weight. Maybe when starting out and doing push-ups but “at least 12 reps” ….or I’m just a wuss 😂
