I have the 12, 000 btu model. I installed it after hurricane Beryl hit Conroe and power it with a 2, 000 watt inverter Firman generator. What a life saver! Cooler my master bedroom to 71 degrees…😮

When did they start shipping this with the new refrigerant r32 ? Can you explain if this has a Slinger design or it just drips out for the condensing? What do you think the long-term reliability is going to beSince this has a variableCompressor?

There’s a problem with this one. The fan gets moldy big time and it’s hard to clean big time. Also, becomes noisy when the fan gets dirty/moldy. True experience

Plz tell me this can be ON when the outside temperature is below 60F ???? Like, can I run this Midea U Shape Inverter AC when the outside temp is 55-60F at night without damaging it? I've heard that air conditioners can potentially have their compressor damaged/stressed/frozen ( I likely have no idea what I'm talking about?!?!?) if the AC is run when the outdoor ambient air temperature is below 65F or 60F. Is this true? I've also heard that some AC units (which one???) are designed for "low ambient temperature" so they can be run when the outdoor temperature is below 60F as they will have a low ambient kit to prevent the compressor from freezing up. Does this seem to make any sense?

This U Shape Inverter AC truly does drop humidity to a nice level. If you like a cool room at 64-66F, this type of inverter AC will make that happen, quietly. It is quieter than a box fan set on the lowest setting for sure. I want to run this AC unit all night long, hopefully. Cool room means I actually fall asleep and stay asleep. It is wonderful!

Yeah, can I run it all night long when the outside temp is below 60F, and not really lower than 50F at night?

If I open the window, my room is just going to get crappy humid (this is in East Tennessee), and really it won't cool without the AC running. It will remain at 73. I hate that! I want 68 or lower.

If this is all bad, any idea what kind of air conditioner I need?

I'm not a fan. We have had this A/C for one season and try cleaning it. You can't access the front fan very easy at all. Not to mention the cats stand on the flap when we leave the house and close it. It now refuses to connect to the Wi-Fi. I will be going to purchase another LG dual inverter like we have in another area of the house. That is a real work horse and easy to clean and maintain. Never had ANY issues in over 4 years. Hope this helps someone. 🤷‍♀️

Wait… that curtain is hard to install and uninstall? You’re being paid by Midea, right? It’s 10 times harder to install and uninstall the Midea!
