Get Started With the MINI App | MINI How-To

Learn in this video how to connect your MINI to the MINI App. After downloading and installing the MINI App, accept the terms and conditions and log in with your MINI Connected account, or create a new account. Define a 4-digit PIN to ensure that no other person who has access to your phone can make changes to your MINI's settings. To enjoy the full experience allow the MINI App access to different apps on your phone. To add your vehicle, enter the 17 digits of your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN). Press ""Help locating your VIN"" to get additional information. Your VIN can be found in your vehicle registration documents and depending on your country on the driver’s or passenger’s side door frame or on the driver’s side windscreen. After entering your VIN in the MINI App, a security code will be sent to your vehicle, which is valid for three hours. Find the security code under ""MINI Connected"" and ""MINI Messages"". Enter the security code in the MINI App and confirm. The process is now complete. There may be a waiting period until the vehicle you have connected is confirmed and displayed on the ""Vehicle"" tab. Enable Remote Services in order to use features such as locking or unlocking your vehicle via the MINI App.

The MINI App will be available from summer 2020 in selected markets. Other markets will follow.

I have a 2018 countryman and this app does not work with vehicles manufactured before 03/2017. I cannot use this app, why are you discontinuing the mini connected app when the new mini app doesn’t work for a mass majority of mini owners?!

It won't accept my VIN. I have tried several times. This is for a 2011 Mini Cooper Hatchback to an iPhone XR. It used to work just fine and now won't connect at all. I can use the Bluetooth mode for Pandora, but not via Mini Connected.

Are these tutorials only to work for certain system updates / model years? The only one in the Apple US App Store is the same one I have already. I had to re-register and now it won’t recognize my VIN. I realize I have an older model, 2016 Clubman, so the up front information would be helpful as not to waste people’s time.

It appears the app does not give kWh added for two situations for my 2021 Countryman PHEV with 10 kW battery:
1. When charging from about 5% charge remaining on. It only shows charging time in hours and minutes. It does not show kWh added or cost. It seems it only works if less than 10 kWh are added and remaining charge is over 7% to 10%.
2. When charging is started on last day of month and ends on first day of next month there is no kWh or time on either month.
I submitted a "Send app Feedback" using the app, but know know if it was received.

I am able to pair my phone (samsung galaxy z fold 3) it accepts my VIN, but the security code never reaches the car. I've tried installing and uninstalling the app several times, used the USB even tried using a different android phone. Still the same, the code never makes it to the car. And whats worse is after leaving the dealership, someone else's Mini SE showed up in my phone app and I can't delete it! Grrr....
