1. Facial shroud: Sudarium of oviedo. Blood stains are an exact match. Also debunks the C14 date.

2. Strips: cut from the cloth, used to tie the body, then later sewn back onto the shroud. It runs the entire length of the cloth.

You’re explaining Jewish ceremonial burials. The linen strips are in addition to the cloth. The hands and feet were bound in accordance to Jewish tradition. The head was indeed covered with an additional covering. We have that covering as well, it was removed after they laid him in the tomb. It has the exact same blood stains and face as the shroud. Nothing you said disproves anything. This is more lazy nonsense. Do your own research, I don’t claim the shroud is authentic, but nothing this man said disproves it, it in fact does the opposite.

The Shroud is a man made artifact.
The idea of a dying and rising god is an old theme that appears in other cultures and was adopted by the early Christians. The medieval artist that made the shroud was a member of the faith.

By is the shroud even a.thing anymore? It has a paper trail from 1389 and 1390. See "The Holy Shroud" by Gary Vikan. A chemist even worked out how it was done with oak gall for tannic acid and ferrous sulfate for iron that makes the dark color. Both ingredients are available from places that sell natural dyes. They were used in ancient times and still today to stamp cloth.

My parents took me to several miracle sites as a child. I never saw any apparitions that the zealots said they saw as they spoke in tongues and flipping around on the floor. Disturbing to say the least, to a young observer.
One of just many many many reasons, that at 14, christianity failed to convince me of it's claims. So, I left.
Turin always seemed like an obvious con.

I used to believe this, but then I never educated myself until fairly recently. I had forgotten all about this shroud - it’s ironic that the very book Christian use to prove their belief, can be used to disprove “evidence” they use for the resurrection.
