DIY Room Entry Detection System - Overview

This is a project that I've been working on for a while now, built mainly with parts from eBay. This is a system that uses RFID to detect if I've entered my room and, if so, turn on and log me into my computer. This video gives a general overview of the system.

Pretty cool setup, I had been playing around with smart cards and this is just fueling that fire even more :) Our schools here use the age-old mag-stripe cards. I do wonder about the security of RFID in an ID card as it seems it could be cloned a little too easily.
