This is probably the most practical "How-to-write" video tutorial out there. Thanks Nicolas!

1-3-1 Since I watched this, I'm seeing this structure everywhere and noticing how effective it is for short skimmable articles. I'm going to start practicing this. Thanks Nicolas!

Ive written for over 10 years and had hundreds of millions of views on my ghostwritten youtube scripts, books and articles. I have never once used the 1-3-1 method before.

I was doing it wrong.

If this video existed when I started, I would have worked so much more efficiently.

I always tend to reactively think "oh, here we go" when I see videos like this. But this one is actually the real deal.

Thank you so much. I'm from Indonesia, and I'm currently learning English (writing essays) to get scholarships to continue studying abroad. You are so inspiring. It is time for me to challenge myself to become an online writer in English

Nobody really talks about it but seeing someone write is a best way to get over the illusion of writer’s block.

Since yesterday, I’ve published 3 articles, and I stumbled upon this video. Outlining my 4th at the moment. 😅

My writing sucks and now I know why because I grew about with the 5 W questions framework for writing articles:
Who
What
When
Where
Why

You changed my mind with your advice:

Start with the what,
then who and
then why (the promise)
already in the headline.

This will attract the reader and set the frame to write an awesome viral post in the shortest time ever.

Thank you! I will follow your advise from now on. I also bought your book The Art and Business of Online Writing.

Wow! The 4 puzzle pieces: Title, Intro, Main body, and brief Summary.
Your explanation makes it an excellent logical flow.

1. Refining the title provides so much clarity in setting the direction of how thoughts should flow.
2. The what-why/who-how sequence prevents a lot of meaningless blabbing that can go into intros. This really speaks to me.
3. Mirroring the title to set out the main content blocks in addition to using the 1-x-1 strategy is so efficient.
4. The idea of providing a little something extra in the conclusion is great.

Thanks Cole. You're a mentor. 🙇

Cole, I learned quite bit in 13 minutes about how to organize thoughts into a cohesive piece of Atomic Essay.

What I liked about it are 3 things:
1) flow of your process in its entirety (this gives viewers like me an overall picture of what a can be achieved and how in a short amount of time)
2) you explained why the Title is a crucial piece of the puzzle (this gives me an idea where to put my effort in at the beginning with efficiency and effectiveness) and
3) how disciplined one has to be sticking to the title while putting sentences down (this give me a measuring scale on what do when I write).

I would love to see a few more different types of contents
- go over someone else's not so effective writing AND explain why it did not work;
- demystify some famous short essays (Law of Human Nature in chap1 of C. S. Lewis's book come to mind)and lastly,
- more of your own writing Atomic Essays (like you did here :)

Hope this helps.

Thanks for all you do!!

The crows going ham outside are as excited as I am watching you craft this article in under 15 mins 😂 The 1-3-1 makes so much sense when seeing how it flows so well. Thanks so much for screensharing and explaining your methodology along the way. This is such valuable content!

A lot of YT is fluff with one or two practical tips. This video is useful start to finish. Please do more videos like this. I'm personally struggling to connect writing/content creation to making money. I've found success through video creation and I feel like I have a lot to share. But monetisation, making it into a business is where I truly struggle. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.

This is an awesome idea, you just flipped the whole thing. All the popular ideas suggest writing headline at the end to summarize the content.
Joined the April cohort of Ship 30, my main challenge would be not to overthink the piece after finish writing. See you there.
