I always gets supernervous when I see people handle crestie-type geckos. They fly jump away and drop their tail at any moment. Great for explaning about the non-handling thing.

I would definitely recommend getting into banded geckos. I've only been keeping Texas banded geckos (coleonyx brevis) for around a month, but in that time, I've gotten to see their amazing personalities blossom. Even though this species only grows to 3-4 inches, they have all the charm and personality of their larger leopard gecko cousins.

Also, speaking of making habitats for them, I actually built my bandeds a large, bioactive vivarium. It was a really challenging, yet fun expirience, especially since I've never built an arid bioactive enclosure before. The geckos love their home, and its really fun to watch them explore and climb around at night. When you have space, you should definitely get some banded geckos!

Knobtail Geckos are really cool! I got a Rough Knobtail and want a smooth Knobtail gecko. Just not completely sure which species yet.

I have a crestie/chewie hybrid...pet only. I also think it's neat that they naturally hybridize in New Caledonian. He's a GORGEOUS sweet little man 💚 Oh and he dropped his tail and grew it back. It doesn't look anything like the original of course...which is a huge bummer because his original tail was absolutely STUNNING but I'm happy he was able to grow it back regardless.

Good choices Jessica. I’ve got a Chahoua it was a toss up between a crested hybrid and a Chahoua . It was like that beautiful sienna orange of the one you showed too. That was too pricey for me at the time so ended up getting a Chahoua baby 😊 I too do not handle my new cal geckos much at all . I have one that is very interactive but still I hardly handle him.

I have three Sarasinorums rn, and I'd say that some are okay with handling and others are not. They're flightier than cresties on average, but it depends a lot on the individual. Two out of my three are easily handleable and one is extremely flighty. Highly recommend them either way! They're full of personality and seem a little smarter than my crested geckos.

I recently did a video on the chahoua gecko x crested gecko hybrids as one of my top reptiles they are stunning I’ve only seen one in person and hope to own one in the future I think it’s completely impossible to go wrong with such a beautiful gecko like that

I know you probably have love for all of them but I’m admittedly a bit salty that your ex left you with all his reptiles and partially as a result you don’t have room for geckos you want. I don’t know how anyone can just leave their pets behind like that.
