Can a DJI Phantom 3 Fly without a Camera & Gimball ? | Controller Only Operation

I crashed my Phantom 3, and my Camera and Gimball broke off. I was curious to see if my drone would fly without those two items attached. What I found out, is that the DJI app will not work without them. You fly without the smart phone and use the controller only.

You should still be able to fly with the app. Disconnect the rest of the gimbal mount and you can fly using google maps in the app to see your location. You will also still have telemetry as well. Some long distance pilots do this for saving weight.

Hi.i have tried flying them with no gimble and camera.but it can only fly about 30m and cannot go further.is there anything i could do?

Damn, man, what did you do to the thing?? Seeing a skid bent THAT much makes me think that any problems you're having might have come from whatever crash caused that much damage.

Thank you, I am saving up for a new camera and have wondered if it would fly without the gimble and camera. I will try this tomorrow. At least I can still have some joy until I get the new camera.

If I remove camera and leave only the gimbal connected, do I have the telemetry Infos from the app, battery GPS, waypoints and so on, ?

S1 (right toggle) does P-Mode/GPS Mode (up), A-Mode/Att Mode (middle), F-Mode/IOC Mode (down). It always has. You really need to read the manual before offering advice to the masses. S2 has never done that.
