DJI Phantom 3 Standard Range Test! (6000+ FEET)

So so soooo many of you have been asking for a range test of my DJI Phantom 3 Standard and here is my go on this video:). I hope you guys enjoy it and find it useful!!

P.S. 1.) Yes, I did reupload this plz rewatch it thx fam...2.) Something that I never mentioned in the video that I probably should of but I figure is quite obvious-this controller is un-modded and this test was done without any range extenders.

What you have to understand is that just because the drone lost connection to the phone doesn't mean it lost connection to the controller. Often times when I'm flying my Phantom 3 standard, I can still see the drone when the live feed cuts out, and it doesn't just start returning to home, it stays where it's at and will even still respond to control inputs. It's a common misconception that a loss of live feed means your drone has lost all connection, in fact it rarely means that

its insane how far these djis have come, i came from a 3 standard to a mini 2 se 6000 feet to now the mini 2 se to 12, 000 feet, that's absolutely insane

Great video, Carson. I can't even get past 2, 500 feet with the ARGtek antennae upgrade. I live in a windy area in North Stockton, California with a lot of electronic interference too. I agree with you about the DJI GO App and the latest firmware update. The App fixed the connection link to my LG smartphone for the first time. However, in mid-flight it disconnected and went into the Registration Mode. LOL. Cheers.

you got some stones, bro. very nice test. I do not currently have faith in my P3S to go out this far because of this disconnection issue you talk about and my lack of faith in the ability of return to home to initiate without a connection.

Plus, like you mention in the first part of the video, it is against current FAA regulations to lose visual contact with the drone.

Carson, Do you have a video out that in dept explains what every item on the DJI go app for Iphone on Phantom three Standard does? That is the most important part of flying a drone and when you reach my age things don't sink in all that fast. I like you videos and have a bunch of them. You explain things clearly without crazy music and other back ground noises and that is great. Keep up the great work. Joe

I just learned something from your video and a text message.
Video loss is not the same as controller signal loss.

I think you have to set the setting in the app that when it lose signal, it have initiate RTH. Go check that. I think there are 3 choice to choose: RTH, landing and hover.
