Did DJI just make my Phantom obsolete? | Is the Phantom 3 relevant in 2022?

I started flying with my son's old Mini, I loved it so I bought a Mini 2; which I enjoyed flying and photographing with. I then got my mirst P3-Pro. It was given to me by a retiring real estate photographer. I love it.
This was in late 2022. I updated my phone installed the DJI Go and and works fine. I love the photos and videos. I picked up a couple cheap for spare parts wound up making one out of the combined spare parts. So I now have 2 fully operational P3-Pros and as happy as can be.
The 2 controllers I have are different than the one in the video. I don't know if they are older or newer, but they work a treat.

I LOVE this drone I have one right now as well as modern mini models but watching this one fly due to it's size is much better for me and fun. I used to have the phantom 3 advanced and that drone had an amazing range, took it out to close to 3 miles once.

I flew my Phantom 3 advanced a while back, it had been a while, but found it to be a real squirrel compared to my Air 2 s. Amazing where the tech has gone in the last five or so years. I will keep it for nostalgia, as it was my first, but I really don't use it anymore for filming anything. Fishing may be a thought though...lol...

I have the Phantom 3 standard I bought when I was 11 years old and Im 21 now. But I still don't know what all functions do. but I might try to update the firmware and use it more. But the range has been my problem with it. I lose signal after like 80 meters

I still have my phantom 3 advanced and still love it. Don't use it as much cause my controller got damaged, so I'm not confident it's stable. Also it's such a big drone compared to newer types.
Debating getting a Mini 4 Pro, but can't decide yet.

My Phantom 3 Std. has been in the closet for a few years. I recently hauled it out to see if it was still worth anything. The DJI Go app won't even start on my newer Samsung Galaxy S10+. The batteries won't charge. One battery did the LED flashing 3 times and the other is completely dead. It ended up in the closet because I couldn't get any range out of it the last time I attempted to fly it. I think I'm just buying a new drone.

Biggest hinderance in the P3S now is the Remote ID, depending on if you want to be compliant and drop the $100 for an add on module to a forced obsolescence drone or intentionally not have it and doing what otherwise get you pinched by the drone police. Its like those sport bikes that drive around with their plate flipped up to not get caught by traffic cameras...

The problem for this drone for filming is the camera can catch the prop while filming while other smaller drone doesnt.

I was wondering which app you use for you phantom. Me and my dad decided to get back into flying our phantoms years later and can’t get passed the signing in point in the DJI GO apps and the DJI fly app we tryed connecting in the camera mode but looks like the app is made for the mavic series, don’t know why they made it like that when there thousands of done flyers trying to connect their drones to a app. Any hep is appreciated thanks half chrome. 🤜🏻🤛🏻😎

What sorta support you even need? Software? Hardware? After years the firmware is so polished, Hardware cheap .... and yes there is thousands of phantom 3 owners who fish with theirs because it's the best value for getting out a line 🤷🏾‍♂️

Still flying my Phantom 3 Standard because it has a kickass long range setup on it and I am a poor bastard 😂
Its a great bird though, I am thinking of upgrading the camera though, anyone know if thats doable ?
