My first car was a 2000 Explorer XLT for $2200 back in 2014. I was the 3rd owner. I absolutely abused it and it still ran like a champ, my brother bought it off me and he used it for a while. It’s still being driven by one of our family friends son and he loves it. Thing is an absolute unit

I drive a GX470… the 2004 model with less horsepower. But people still list these things for $15, 000+ with 300K miles because they’re blinded by their fanship of the platform and the following it has, when the reality is they are 20 year old trucks and it shows. That’s why I don’t want to sell mine because I overpaid during high car price inflation and couldn’t get what I paid for it even with modifications I’ve made. All that to say, if you manage to find a nice one for under 10 grand with less than 250, 000 miles, kudos to you.

The Infiniti and Nissan are both #4, Brad.
Good list. I am surprised the Cayenne wasn't on here, considering its depreciation.

Absolutely the best vehicle I've owned is the quality is excellent and seriously capable and safe when the roads get to find in decent shape now for under 20k

Finally put a true #1 in its spot! The ZJ is by far the best bang for the buck period! Most of its parts are shared with a TJ Wrangler. But, you have V8 options and a perma roof! Best vehicle ever made!

4runners & GX's haven't gone for those prices for at least 3 years. & Cherokee's & Grand Cherokee should be at the top of the list for cheaper. Not better.

I’ve own 2 of the trucks on this list.

08 Tahoe 240k miles runs like a champ.

02 sequoia 250k miles runs like a champ.

Where are you finding Lexus GX470s for under 10K. Was just searching. Over 200k miles and still 12-15k

Just to correct with the Lexus RX 2nd gen, the RX330 is the one that goes from 2003-2006 with the 3MZ-FE 3.3L V6, then was introduced the still robust and newer, faster, and chain timed 2GR-FE 3.5L V6 therefore changing the naming to RX350 from 2007 to 2009 uplifts, and then the name and engine have stayed and had further revisions. Still, I'd like to point out that you simply cannot go wrong with either, I love my amazing old school 2006 luxury SUV with 200k+ miles and still purrs like a cat.

Here in South America every vehicle you mentioned is like 4 times more expensive. 😔 You guys are so lucky.

the thing I noticed about most of these is the fairly high mileage and a lot were near or over 20 years old. I know these are budget options, but is it really budget if you have to put in an additional 4-6k just to keep some of these on the road?
