You completely missed the appalling treatment of presenter Michael Sundin by the BBC during the 80s who was sacked for being gay. He unfortunately died of AIDS in 1989 and now seems to be completely erased from Blue Peter history.

John Leslie wasn’t on BP until 2002. He left in the mid 1990s.

Well you missed the two big ones - the first Blue Peter dog, Petra (although she hadn't been named at that point), died after her first appearance and was replaced by a lookalike the next week without mentioning the fact. And original presenter Christopher Trace, who was married, had to leave in the mid 60s after having an affair during a Blue Peter Holiday.

surprised janet ellis sophies mum didn't get a mention as in the mid 80's she was pregnat and not married to the child father. think this did get brought up in the house of commons

One point about the not mentioned Janet Ellis baby, that baby Sophie Ellis Bextor was introduced as the Blue Peter baby, to cover up her then ( social views and attitudes were different ) embarrassing origins, and viewers got lessons in how a baby grows up, in the first two years of life.

It seems so weird that there are no longer any kids' shows on terrestrial TV these days, especially during the weekend as those shows were great growing up, Going Live!, SMTV Live, Wide Awake Club, and my favorite "Get Fresh"

"Royal Mail" Don't you mean Daily Mail?
I thought Janet Ellis would be in there, during the 1980's she after enduring multiple miscarriages, which is heartbreaking, fell pregnant with her son, only the son, was not her husbands. She was separated, but still married to him. the press went as far to call her "The Blue Peter Whore" She wasn't fired, and has said the show was supportive of her but she never came back to Blue Peter
