“Since my customary farewell would appear oddly self serving, I will simply say, good luck.”
Hell of a line, RIP Leonard

Imagine meeting yourself from the future and all he tells you is that you’re gonna be besties with that annoying guy who led a mutiny against you

This is one of the nicest "passing of the torch" scenes in history. It has been said many times since that Zachary Quinto was nervous wreck during making of this scene and that there were concerns if he could pull it off, but reportedly they managed to make it in just one take.

The late, the undeniably great Leonard Nimoy. May his legacy never be forgotten 🖖

This is one of those rare scenes where we can see a character at both the beginning AND the end of his character arc in the same moment. Spock Prime has reconciled his human and Vulcan halves and is comfortable with both while the younger Spock is still wrestling with the fact that he is a child of two worlds and that one of those worlds has been virtually obliterated. Time travel stories can be confusing, but they can also give awesome moments like this one!

Only Spock could convince Spock to do what feels right. His mother took forever to finally convince old Spock to embrace emotions healthily when needed. She saw the benefit of emotion tempered by logic and logic informed by emotion.

Spock just taught himself this lesson without all the hardship he would need to face to learn it otherwise.

And it def came in handy when facing Khan. Spock finally unloaded emotion

To quote Dr McCoy from The Wrath of Khan: "He's really not dead, as long as we remember him." Rest in peace, Mr Nimoy. And thank you for all the great adventures. Live long and prosper.

"Put aside logic, and do what feels right." Wise words Spock, wise words.

"I could not deprive your of the revelation of all that you could accomplish together. Of a friendship that will define you both, in ways you cannot yet realize."

Beautiful summary of the Kirk/Spock friendship.

"Put aside logic...do what feels right "

This line warmed my heart; I have watched some episodes and seasons of Star Trek the Original series; the past Spock would say it's illogical. So I am happy and proud he had grown from it

No other actor will ever portray Spock as perfectly as Nimoy

"I am not our father."

Oh yes you were, Mr. Nimoy. You were the father of a great character, named Spock, and for many young boys you were a bit of a father figure, and a friend. We miss you, so much.

The moment when Leonard Nimoy turned around... Did anyone shed a tear while watching their meeting or is it just me?

Young Spock can't begin to imagine, this is only the beginning 🙂.

I thought it was pretty cool they didn't just pretend TOS and it's movies never existed, but instead intertwined the two universes. Now that's a classy reboot.

When he mentions their "friendship" it just brings tears to my eyes because you realize how much it meant to him

J.J. Abrams must have had the easiest time of his career "directing" Leonard Nimoy. By that I mean, you don't direct a guy who's been playing the same character for about 50 years - you just give him his lines, point the camera, and say "action" and let the guy who knows the character best do the rest.

This moment shows that even after his days with the Enterprise are done, Spock still fondly remember Kirk as being the one friend who helped make him the man he is.
