The big problem with the model 3 is that I want one and it costs too much.

Had my Model 3 Performance for 6 weeks now and it’s the best car I have ever owned by an order of magnitude. Speedo on the screen is simply not an issue, it’s actually very clear and intuitive to read. Regen is excellent and took about 3 minutes of driving to get completely comfortable with. Totally agree with the comments about the boot however, very poorly sprung and I’ve caught my head on it a couple of times as it hasn’t fully lifted. Overall this is a 5* car and I can very happily say that despite having owned Porsche’s, performance Audi’s and M Sport Beemers I will never drive an ICE again.

A nice balanced review but you made 2 comments that are unjustified when you own one. The position of the speed display is no issue at all (just like a mini), and regen braking becomes intuitive within very few hours: indeed, it becomes quickly the preferred means of almost one pedal driving! It would be nice if you could get out in one for a little while more then reflect. I've got one, and it has its faults, but it brings a huge smile to your face when you drive it (especially when you need (or want) to accelerate 😳, or maybe follow a country road. It's sticks to the road so well. Thanks.

Had mine for a month and had no issue with the speedo being slightly out of peripheral from the start (too busy checking the rear view for police anyway). Regen is bonkers but again, got used to it quickly and can’t imagine driving without it now. Other amazing features not mentioned are autopilot, the cameras, sound system and security. All first class!

Launch hasn’t got old yet BTW ⚡️

The wheels look much nicer in the "new from this month" grey. IMO. And no, trust it from somove riding motorcycles for over 30 years, good acceleration never gets old.
the scrollers on the steering wheel are soft, they do a lot more than just volume, e.g. voice command initiation.

Best car I have ever owned, on 36, ooo miles and no problems . Brings a smile to my face every time I drive it .

In The Headlights I have one and got used to the speed display much quicker than I expected. You can lighten the steering in the settings - you can reduce the regen in the settings and if (like me) you think it’s too fast try “chill mode”

The centre screen for the speed becomes so second nature that within about a day you stop even noticing. You don't need to move your head, just the direction of the eyes (slightly). While I'd prefer the display you get also in the S and X, considering this is the lower cost range, it's a very clever design.

Great review. Couple of things. Track mode doesn't disable traction control/stability control it replaces it with 'Vehicle Dynamics Control' Also there's not a cat in hells chance you'll get anywhere near 325 miles of range driving on motorways...unless driving under 55 miles per hour. I'm lucky if I get 240.

If u check ur side view mirrors or ur rear view mirror as u should, u take ur eyes off the road all the time.

I have the M3 & I brush off snow & water from the rear before I open the trunk. It's a first world problem. Love the car and the lifestyle we can aspire to.

I'm not entirely sure why they put levers by the steering wheel. A button on the wheel for the indicators and gear selectors would be the way forward

0:58 he says Falcon doors and a falcon or eagle is flying behind the window in exact same moment! What a coincidence.

had this for 3 months. you get used to the speedo with no issues. speed still puts a smile on my face although have to keep a close eye as easy to exceed the limit very quickly

Sounds like you don’t use side mirrors while driving? Because that function requires driver to glance left (and right). Or maybe viewing the side mirrors has become so automatic you don’t think about it? In short, the TM3 ‘speedo’ is no different than side mirrors. Besides, when in traffic and if you go-with-the-flow does one need to check the speedo? No.

Steering has three modes....looking at display you had it in standard with comfort and sport either can get tighter, firmer in sport mode.

To put that torque into perspective, the Ferrari 458 had 540NM of torque..

Interesting question about the use of touch screens for control of not just the info-tainment but also the climate and drive settings aswell. As the govt are considering extending the ban on the use of hand held devices to include music and navigation as well as communication surely built in systems are no different?

after 2 1/2 years the launch in my model S is still fun.

reviewers don’t understand that they should at first put the car in auto steer mode when viewing the screen. after a while when they get used to where things are in the screen they will find the auto steer step unnecessary but still useful for times when you might want to reach across to grab something in the car. Just understand its limitations that are obvious and you’ll be fine.

The quality and performance of the model three was infinitely better than that of the reviewer.
