If I skipped the very beginning of the video, didn't know that this kid broke a 13 year old record, and only listened to the critique, I'd think he's just some dude that moved up from teaching water aerobics to soccer moms at the local Y to competitive swimming. He has room to improve and maybe some of your points are valid. But you have a very down and condescending tone throughout the video towards the fastest human being ever in this event. It reminds me of all the so-called experts that were complaining about Usain Bolts's slowdowns before crossing the finish line. And now, he is also making huge progress in 200m freestyle after just recording the 4th fastest recorded time in history, 0.24s faster than his June PB and only 0.01s slower than Phelps.Anyway, I don't know if this is the angle you were shooting for but this is how it comes across.

His 15m split was actually 5.66 seconds which means basically that he will go 45 once he gets up to speed . The suggestion that he needs to or may have to put on muscles flies in the face of the fact that he’s the fastest ever . Maybe the other guys need to do something differently .

Phelps, Lochte and to a lesser degree Biderman had loping strokes. Clearly it works.

Wow...Such an expert critique. I guess you held a few world records in your prime?
On a serious note, I'd like to see your "analysis" once David breaks the 200m record.

Besides the block start, he doesn't need to improve anything. His technique is different; I believe others may need to reconsider their style. You mentioned he waists energy going up and down instead on in front...well, this is what puts him in front. He goes down, splitting the water at an angle. Man, he is the fastest! Everyone should learn from his technique. If he goes faster, it will be because he will put some muscles on his body, but I really, really hope his technique will remain the same.

Thanks for the Video....but your critique to the Looper or Hybrid Freestyle is extremely shallow, and it is what every swimming youtuber repeats. I dont know if you have seem the videos of the Race Club members area where they do the analysis of the Stroke and why it is one of the best and why such elevation of the head translates to more push foward than normal stroke. And while it is true that some momentum is lost wasting energy getting that up, most if not even more is recovered when the head comes down and it definitely shows when people keep breaking records and improving times and not only in 100 or 200, even in 400, 800, 1500 and even some Open Water use that
