I’m 80 years old and I just sent this song to my 17 year old grandson who plays both the trumpet and the guitar. he already knows it and loves it. Great music lives on.

This music reaches a rarely seen level of musicianship and song writing. I think us kids growing up in the 70s just took for granted all the music we had back then. Now in my 60s I realize that after all these years nobody has topped this. Very grateful for this music.

I bought this album in 1969 and wore it down to plastic pieces. I'm 74 and this still resonates. Incomparable!

Hard to believe Peter sang this song with his jaw wired shut. Pretty amazing.

My stepdad died October 2, 2024, after a long battle with early onset dementia. He loved music up to the very end. One of the last things he asked me to do was learn how to play this song on his guitar, which I never managed to do before he died.

After the funeral (which was on a Friday), I went out to the lake at midnight, where I could see nothing but stars for miles, and I played this song. Right as the song ended, I saw a shooting star.

I play this song every Friday night in his honor, and plan to do so for a while. And I still plan to learn it on his guitar, too.

I see the comments are full of older people who enjoyed this song around the time it was made, and still show appreciation for it to this day. I was randomly introduced to this song by a youtube ad of all things. Im 22 yrs and i like this song.

So glad my older brother introduced me to Chicago by buying me their greatest hits back around 1975. I was 13. I was hooked but I never told him. He died a few years ago at 70 yrs old. He did eventually know I liked them but they became my favorite band when I finally "grew up" into my 40s Lol. They are still my favorite band. Though I mostly listen to gospel music now I cant seem to put these guys away for good. They are in my blood and it gives me good memories of my brother. My crazy brother that I loved dearly bought a Pacer in 75. He taught me how to ride his Honda motorcycle and took me to Taco Bell for my very first time. He served in Vietnam. He came home and was kind of a hippie Lol. I wish he were still around but I will see him again in Heaven. They have different music up there but I'm good with that! You know why? They got horns! Lol And it glorifies God. Sorry for rambling. Felt good though.

One of the greatest bands ever. The brass was indispensable and they did it better than anybody else.

Waiting for the break of day
Searching for something to say
Flashing lights against the sky
Giving up, I close my eyes
Sitting cross-legged on the floor
Twenty five or 6 to 4
Staring blindly into space
Getting up to splash my face
Wanting just to stay awake
Wondering how much I can take
Should I try to do some more?
Twenty five or 6 to 4, oh yeah!
Feeling like I ought to sleep
Spinning room is sinking deep
Searching for something to say
Waiting for the break of day, woo-oooh
Twenty five or 6 to 4
Twenty five or 6 to 4, alright.

I'm only 66 here in 2024 so in 1969 I was only 11. When I got to high school I bought the album and loved it. I still own it. I usually like songs for their melody, not their lyrics (which can get a Catholic boy explaining himself, at times!). I like everything about 25 or 6 to 4. It was a genius lyric in the song and fit perfectly. Thank you, Chicago! Live long and prosper, 25 or 6 to 4. BTW, it was 26.

I'm only 13 years old and a bass clarinet player in Jazz band and this was the best song we played!

It’s unfortunate that most of the “greatest guitarists of all time” lists don’t mention Terry Kath. This is one of the greatest solos ever played.
