If u have the spark don't get mavic air. If you have extra money and no drone get a mavic air.

My first drone was the Dji Spark, I have had it for a week now and I love it it is a fantastic first little drone. I would recommend getting the fly more combo is it comes with the remote controller and a spare battery, and lots more accessories. It is also a very budget friendly drone
Personal rating: 8/10

I have a Phantom 3 Pro, a Mavic Pro, and a Spark. Hands down I recommend the Spark for a beginner! It is super easy to fly, and has enough stuff to do, to get started and keep them going for some time. Sometimes the better drones are just too overwhelming with too many functions and features and then people get frustrated. On my hometown swap on FB, you would not believe how many people are selling these better drones with comments like flown only once, flown only 2 times etc... They even go on to say things like don't have time, don't have time to learn this technology etc...

First drone I bought was a Parrot Bepop 2, excellent drone for a beginner and someone who just wants to take fairly decent videos and pictures and have fun!

I’m going for the air I’m about to move to China and will purchase it there it’s a lot cheaper for the fly more combo as well oh and before anyone says watch out it could be a copy 1) it’s an official DJI store about 20 minutes from where I’ll be living 2) DJI is actually a Chinese company 3) my wife who’s Chinese has recently been to the store and seen them flying and she loves them both so a major result .... lol 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

As both a Spark and Mavic Air owner, I totally agree with pretty much everything you said in this video. It totally depends on the use case as to which one is a better starter drone. I still think that the spark is an extremely strong competitor in this market space, and with the new price drop and included controller, it is an excellent value!

I went with the Air for my first drone. I couldn't be happier. I am still in beginner mode and it seems super easy to fly and land. My confidence of not crashing it is very high!!

my first drone was a mavic air a year ago, really loved it and haven't had any problems with it yet, i'd recommend it. Friend of mine has a spark and it's really awesome aswell but it's more about how much you want to spend on a drone

I know this a old video, but just wanted to share this, we just got back from the Texas coast for our 23rd anniversary and I took the spark with us and she’s been very reliable for us, my wife loves the memories with this drone... god bless....

Crashed my Spark into a creek right by my house and it sat there for a week while I waited for the water level to recede(couldn't see it under the muddy water).... I dried it all out and the next day it took a couple tries, but it is actually up and flying again!!! I'm still amazed. There is mud on it and the propellers, but it is still functioning for now... It did ruin a battery though. We'll see how long it lasts, but I really enjoy it a ton

Just got a spark a week ago. Im in love with it. Was thinking about swapping it for the air. However this video has made me feel better about getting the lower cost spark. For me, it's more than enough and blows me away every time I fly it. Any one new like me I'd highly recommend getting the refresh + extended warranty from DJI. It's really eased my mind about flying further away and over water. Worst case it's brake and I can get a new one for about $40. Great video man, thanks for all the detailed info. Happy to finally be part of the drone crew !

After following your advice I started with a Yuneec Breeze but switched to a Spark quickly... I love my Spark and I use it a lot for photography and some video. The 1080 is not a deal breaker for me especially since uploading to Instagram tends to compress the images or video so I'm very happy with it. I do recommend getting the portable charging station and a couple of extra batteries.

Spark was my first drone. Just purchased a MavAir Fly More Combo for $750. Watching this made me realize why I wanted the Air so much when it first released. Glad I waited because now I get to enjoy for 25% off.👍

So basically... $400 more for 4k!
I'm cool with the Spark!

My first drone was a Parrot bebop 1 drone then I upgraded to a Bebop 2 when I needed more battery life. These drones are incredible especially with the image stabilization and the 25 minute battery life!!!

First one was a cheap costco at 89 bucks, i knew i needed to learn them 1st. So went thru about 4 of those, not knowing the awesome capabilities of the Mavic Air. Once I got the Mavic, I was blown away by the stabilization on the very 1st take off, love the quality and now I’m just trying to figure out a good editing platform that doesn’t take a lot of effort.Still a beginner with a Mavic. Great video, thanks.

I have both of these and a Yuneec Typhoon H. I would suggest the Spark for anyone that is first starting out. It is incredibly easy to fly and if it is something you shelve after a few weeks it's not as big an investment (got the flymore combo for under 350).

The Air is cool and in sport mode is scary fast. The camera and gimbal can make a difference, plus it flies a ton better in wind than the Spark. 1080 video on both are great, but do yourself a favor and get filters. They make a world of difference.

I got the spark for Christmas and only had it for about 3 months. I love the thing, Its great. I actually just ordered the Mavic Air cause i wanted something with a little more distance. Now my only issue is do i sell my Spark or keep I don't wanna sell it, cause i got so much stuff that goes with it. 4 batteries, a case, landing gear, etc etc but if i do the money would cover some of the Air cost even if i don't get back what i Let me know your opinion guys

I just ordered a Certified Refurbished Mavic Pro as my first drone. I'm looking to get into landscape videography and photography. I chose the Mavic Pro primarily because of it's longer flight time and OcuSync support. It actually ended up being cheaper for me than a comparable Mavic Air.

It was $649 refurbished and I added an additional battery for $89. A 10% student discount brought the price back down to $650 for me which was a great deal. I really wanted the Mavic Air for it's higher bitrate at 4k and smaller form-factor but it was just too expensive at $800-ish for a similar package with the same discount.
