There is a reason salons don’t use tips on the feet. Liability. Drilling down on the big toe (that drill goes for just polish too) that takes so much impact daily. You don’t want to do things to weakens it.

Leads to weaker nails, cracks, pain, infection, sepsis, amputation and possibly death.

Doesn’t happen often but since they aren’t medical professionals and don’t have a physical before them, diabetics, kidney patients, cardiac patients soo many couldn’t risk this. Salons can’t risk it. No matter how cute the toes are.

This YouTuber is young and probably fine. And most importantly, only doing it to herself. Don’t do anything you need a drill for on your feet.

There’s a huge reason why they don’t do it in salons- nail fungus. People wear closed toe shoes which is a perfect environment for moisture, that’s the difference between fingers and toes. Toes have more bacteria, are in warm moist shoes, and feet sweat way more than hands

Hey everyone. This is not intended to be a hate comment whatsoever, just more of an educational one.
The reason why you shouldn’t do this is your toes and feet health. That should be a priority over aesthetics.
Podologists (feet doctors essentially) do not recommend wearing even gel polish let alone full on extensions... the reason for this is the following: we are primarily wearing closed shoes. Any form of closed shoes (and a lot of them are tight and narrow nowadays) puts pressure on your nails. The nail plate is able to withstand this pressure because on its own it’s flexible. Wearing what is basically a plastic layer is not healthy and puts extra pressure on your nails and toes.
Another point here is length: your toenails are not supposed to be this long for the same reason of risking the damage.

The results of prolongated wearing periods could be the following: getting ingrowns, detachments, changing the way and direction your nail grows (it can start to curl, harden and other things).

Unless you are exclusively wearing shoes where your toes are open... this is not it.

Your most basic polish without gel or gelX is all that is needed on the toes. The polish lasts long and is less likely to chip unlike fingernails.

My mum no longer has big toe nails on BOTH feet, and a couple of the little ones are super messed up.
When she was younger she was insecure about her nail shape, as she has “man feet” in her words, so she always, always, always wore fake nails, acrylics, etc (mostly during the late 80s/90s so I can’t say exactly what she as used, but I know she did them herself and went to salons)
Well the extra pressure from walking, shoes, stubbing toes etc damaged her nail bed so badly the whole nail died off, and because of the solid colour she didn’t know until it was too late.
One day it just fell off in her shoe.

She then went to the dr, was told about the damage fake nails can so, especially on the feet, and was advised to remove the other to at minimum check the health.
And that’s when she found the other was mostly dead and ended up needing to be removed, and a few others are severely damaged.
Now she has extra ugly feet and nails, and no way to hide them.

If you wear tight shoes or do anything that involves a lot of walking or running, or ANY type of sport I wouldn’t recommend this only because they can break and damage your actual mail. If you live a more relaxed life and don’t do a lot with your feet then this should be fine. And you can still do it regardless just know the risks

I started doing my toes like this about a year ago it's cute and easy it takes less time for me to do my toes this way than it does if I just put the gel on my natural toenail

You can ask for your toes to be done like that. My sister only has a half big toe nail and they put a fake toe nail on for her. It looked good.

Also she is not using glue for gel ex you use a gel base coat as if your about to polish then add additional layer after curing first base. Place nail on top and cure second layer while holding gel x nail in place. To remove completely file off or use drill with caution ⚠️ the color and acetone will eat away the gelx causing it to become jelly like then you can use a cutical pusher to get it off with ease. DO NOT REMOVE AND PUT A NEW SET ON JUST FILE OFF COLOR AND FILL IN SPACE THAT GRE OUT WITH BASE COAT, FILE TO BLEND THEN BASE COAT ENTIRE NAIL, POLISH THEN TOP COAT. LESS WORK AND LAST LONGER. DO NOT OVER USE PRODUCT BY REMOVING EVERY TIME YOU WANT A NEW COLOR REMOVING OR OVERUSE OF DRILL AND ACETONE WILL DAMAGE YOUR NAILS OVER TIME ⏲️

No. You must not put hard materials on toes! It causes lifting and you can get infection or just loose toe nail. Hard materials are not used for toes, use a regular nail polish. Gels, acrylics are only for finger nails.

Been doing mine this way for a min. I paint designs first then use a colored builder gel to glue them down.

When I was getting married my big toenail was really short compared to the rest of my toes. When I went to the salon to have my nails done the lady noticed my big toe and asked me if I wanted her to fix it. She put a tip on it and it looked so good.

All nail salons in nyc offer this option, they will also use poly gel or acrylic to build perfect toes if you don’t want to use the false toe nail
