I read an article recently about how a lady lost a toe because she had a gel pedicure and wore closed toed shoes. The nails aren't able to flex properly in your shoes. Only do gel pedicures if you're going to be wearing open toed shoes exclusively. Be careful!

you probably won’t find a salon that does this because they don’t want to risk clients getting foot fungus on their toenails (which causes them to break off) and blaming them, even gel polish isn’t good for the toes makes ur nails brittle

They may not do it at salons cause that’s a sure way to mess up your nail bed if you hit your toe. Even podiatrists recommend keeping your nails short to avoid injuries….

As nail tech I’m gonna say don’t do it, you can injure your toe nails or get infection ( mostly fungus ) . Once you damaged your nails at matrix zone - you are 100% succeed in damage for rest off your life

I've abused my hands over the years in my careers , but because I was always on my feet, I made sure to baby them . Now that I'm retired, I'm soooo glad I baby them, because they are beautiful 😊 !

If anyone tries this, you need to make sure there is absolutely no moisture, otherwise, it will won't last and it will put you at risk for fungus (which is why salons usually don't do it)

You should never ever put UV lights on your hands or toes without sunscreen!! These nail salons don't tell you how dangerous this is. I'm an oncology nurse and should warn you against this.

Lmaooo!!! 😂😂 I feel you. I bought some press on toenails from either off of Temu or Shein (I’m almost sure they came from Shein). It’s a pack of 240 white nail pieces for $1 and some change. I don’t remember any other colors beside white for that many pieces. But, I have had success with those and with the Mega Hold liquid glue by Kiss, they can hold for at least 2-3 weeks and sometimes up to two months. And they have that dot sized ass toenail just for the pinky toe lol

I tried these! I like them because of the shape and they last long! With normal press ons they pop off almost immediately so these are a step up. A lot of people that are in the comments talk about being nail techs and how bad it is for your nails but when I was in nail school, we literally learned acrylic overlays on toes. Every nail tech has a different opinion and it gets draining reading all of them. I get they’re just trying to warn people but in school I learned that it was ok so I guess I’m just gonna have to fuck around and find out🤷🏽‍♀️

I believe that salons don’t really do this because when you wear closed toed shoes the nail cannot bend and move the way they can without anything on them. I at least come to this conclusion because it is similar to why it’s not recommended to wear closed toed shoes when you have regular gel polish on your toenails due to your nails not being able to move as they normally do. And probably because of cost with little demand, but idk just a guess

My nail salon will apply acrylic to toenails if needed. 1 of my big toenails is 'deformed' ever since dropping an electric organ on it as a child. Also if you have a broken toenail they can add acrylic to even the length or shape out to look like your other nails. They probably would do acrylics on all 10 - or however many toenails you have - just like they do for fingernails. 😊

I used to do this all the time, it's a great way to get a nice shape in and a professional looking pedicure. But be warned that the uv light will age your feet!

The skin on your feet isn't used to that much direct UV light, and before you know it you've aged your feet a ton 😢❤

Girl, I’ve always used Kiss French Tip fake toenails for summer! They have a 96 count pack that makes it a lot easier to find ones closest to your size. I just file to fit & glue those puppies down. Maybe I need to look into these though 👀
