If you think dating is expensive you should try marriage and divorce! 😂

I remember hearing a interview with someone who was asexual, and they noticed in their late teens early twenties that they always had more money than their work colleagues…

Sure…let me tell my wife that. I’m sure she’ll appreciate me spending nothing and telling her “I am investing in our future”.

The US fixation on men buying their women's love is utterly disturbing.

Guess it’s a good thing that I got no girl to be my valentine

On the flip side, marriage can double income while most fixed expenses remain relatively the same (i.e. rent/mortgage, vehicles (if shared), etc). And sometimes insurance premiums can cost less when purchased together than as two separate policies. Overall, despite the added costs of maintaining the relationship, the net financial benefit is extremely positive and beneficial.

That is one of the reason why I avoid dating.

I'm broke af

They really need to do studies on the spending gap (wealth transfer from men to women) instead of only talking about the so-called pay gap.

My wife and I agreed that celebrating both the day we started dating and our wedding anniversary is WAAAY more important than celebrating the capitalists' consumerism holiday on February 14th!

Single people think dating is expensive.
Married people think raising a family is more expensive.
The rest think divorce is the most expensive.

Unless you're the ex wife of course.

Such a disgusting holiday. Not only is it fake, created by a card company, but it also continues contribute to this bizarre idea that love isn’t about well, love, but about giving people “things.” That gift giving is an expectation and not just a nice thing to do. That the only way to show you truly “care” about someone is to buy, buy, buy. What’s even sadder is that every time I try to explain this to people they either look at me funny or are disgusted with my “selfishness.”

Recent joke I heard:

"- Man... I have no idea what to do? valentines day is coming and our anniversary is the following week...
- Seems financially the best option is a divorce..."

"The places that people want to go are not a giant parking lot or highway."

Unfortunately some cities are. Ever watched Not Just Bikes?

Going in to debt shopping for gifts is the most stupid thing ever.

Okay I get it now, I'm not anti-romantic, I'm just anti-consumerism!

Buying gifts for others must be the single dumbest reason to go into debt.

Men pay.

The end.

Having someone you love and take on dates is not an Economic burden to me. Of course I don’t splurge and go to $400 dinners every time, but to me it is worth it. When I’m 90 I’d like to know I spent my good years cherishing the one I love and making memories that I can fall back on
