A number of rural communities in Peru have faced the pressures of climate change innovatively and successfully. In some cases they have strengthened in their own knowledge and in other cases integrating theirs with modern knowledge. Six practices have been selected as winners and occupied the first, second and third place in each of the two categories of the competition. These experiences show the responsiveness, resourcefulness and cooperation of families and peasant organizations in different and diverse geography to address issues affecting their livelihoods and that climate change intensifies.
