Out of all 76 provinces in Thailand, Chiang Mai is my most favorite province. I lived there for 6 years and enjoyed every single day of my time. It is always charming, full of artistic and creative minded people. The good part of it is that one can choose to pay for a luxury lifestyle or just a simple and down-to-earth living. As you said it is value for quality but sometimes one can find quality above value in this fascinating city. Cheers!

Thanks, Chris. I wrote down all the places you went for my trip in February/March. Searching for the best khao soi is very important in Chiang Mai, so my favorite dish you ate was at Khao Soi Khun Yai. Somehow, I've never seen Jok before, so I'm going to search for that! I went to a tasting menu restaurant in San Francisco where the portions were all 1-2 bites and it cost $200 per person. (Never again.)

I’m Thai and I think Chiang Mai is the best province of Thailand! People are real kind. Their mindsets are so beautiful and amazing. The weather is also good! I’m living in southern and get so jealous of them but don’t get me wrong. I don’t hate them I’m more like happy with them! I also have friends who are living in Chiang Mai that’s why I love them so much. Their personalities, the way they talk, the way they do everything are charming! Happy to see you enjoy living in Chiang Mai <3

Khao Soi is a must if anyone visit Northern Thailand
The taste can be different from each stall too like how curry should be

Congratulations Chris and Haley, David and Jeejee here, looks like you're doing a bang-up job at finding some outstanding spots here in Chiang Mai. Food For Thought / Ozark and salad concept are a couple of our favorites. We also recommend salsa kitchen for Mexican food please don't miss Okajui organic farm-to-table 4 great salads and Thai Western Fusion so sorry that Nana jungle Cafe Restaurant is under construction that's a shame really for upscale dining that will not break the bank we highly recommend Chom Cafe and Restaurant. This Cafe has beautifully presented Thai food with an incredibly beautiful landscaped Garden in full view of an open-air restaurant don't miss it the food is good and cheap and it will be amazing. Best wishes and continue to enjoy your trip in lovely Chiang Mai. I'm sure you have now realized why I have sticker shock when I go to a nice restaurant in Bangkok 555

The tasting menu at Blackitch for sure Chris!!! You can’t beat the price especially when compared to where I live in San Francisco and not to mention some of the restaurants in the wine country like Napa ( north California) Although, I think everything you & Haley have eaten looked soooo yummy and delicious!!! Chiangmai is now on my bucket list for food & outdoor activities……😉 Thanks for sharing this awesome vlog🙏

It's very interesting how you divided the categories into cheap and expensive meals with even two individuals. You're totally going to make a lot of people jealous from all the good meals you're having, Chris 😂😂 And yes Chiang Mai is the best place for good food with super reasonable price Some of the places I don't even know they exist like the Reservoir and I'm so glad that you're promoting these for us, thank you!

You are KILLING ME! Tikky Cafe was my GO TO at least twice a week! I lived close to both Nimman and Santitham (mid-point between the two)...best darned location on the planet. Dying to get back there and refresh my memories!

For the record, I have a passion for a hole-in-the-wall spot in the Old City called Good Restaurant, across from Thai One On. Stumbled upon it after doing my own acrylic painting at an art shop and love, love, love that little neighborhood. For Brunch, Auf Der Au Garden is another winner, an all-you-can-eat German buffet that is too cheap and too delicious to pass up.

Currently completing my research for Bangkok and the rest of Thailand. Of all the vids I’ve seen I’m loving yours, so much info and I feel you give the essence of Thailand wherever you may be at any time. I will continue to plough through your videos. Thank you !

After initially watching this video a month or so ago, I finally got to visit Blackitch as I am spending a few days in Chiang Mai. It was well worth the wait, a fabulous recommendation. I found the menu changes every 2 months so I will be back in November on my next visit. Many thanks Chris

Hello Chris! Love the video as always. Every second of this video was entertaining and informative!! I think Cheap Chris won all around.
I also learned my lesson about riding a motorcycle without a helmet. I got into an accident in BKK last week.
P.s I'm checking into Absolute Twin Sands tomorrow and can't wait!
Thanks again 🥳

Just LOVED this video! Of course, my all time favorite Khao Soi is at Khun Yai! Please make more videos like this one. It is awesome. So good that I will share it several times. It takes us to Chiang Mai through you until we can get there, hopefully in early March. Awesome!
