For Dubai, a years worth of rain fell in just 24-hours leaving the city woefully unprepared in infrastructure and flood prevention systems.

With the water only just beginning to clear up, Dubai is finally getting on the move again.

Billionaire businesses are desperate to reopen and recoup their losses from almost 100-hours worth of disruption but the clean up is going to continue to take its toll for a while longer, according to experts.

Dubai is prime example of a rich city who fail at urban planning for climate emergency in the future. A lots of city now are preparing for an unexpected future from Arizona to Singapore . We must be prepare as we won't be able to reverse global warming due to human greed

At least they dont have to worry about the sewer system overflowing. There is no sewer system. Look at that forward thinking.

US$ 1 billion worth of infra damages...that's just a tiny fraction of Dubai's Royalty's wealth.

Not just storm drainage, Dubai is famous for not having adequate sewerage collection and treatment. Spending 80% of investment for showoff! Further more, the city is located along ocean shoreline with a river flowing thru!!

There is nothing freak about this. They “seeded” the cloud for rain. The government should compensate the people for all the damages that the rain caused which came from their negligences.

My advice to Dubai government is please reinstall bigger bore drains and build extra pumping stations around Dubai so in future all the water can be drained quickly
