Those human rights activists are nowhere to be seen when people get robbed, raped, killed or endure even worst treatment from gang members. You won't understand the pain until you're on the side of the victims. Something needs to be done. That's just the way it is.

I really wonder what created these intensely horrifying gangs, and what cultural shifts are actually most effective in neutralising them. It feels like more pop up, where others are locked up. I've heard so many horrifying stories about these gangs and their ceaseless brutality...

Quote good report however you omitted the fact that the prison will contain the heads and most important members of the gangs which were already hiding or were gang members in a manner so obvious further investigation wasn't necessary
There may have been some innocents involved but that's because of the massive ramifications of gangsters to the point 8yo kids were already fully active members and participated to incredibly Gorey executions of anybody, even random civilians, sometimes offering on their own to kill the victim out of pure sadism
They hid themselves between civilians so well even a innocent looking elder could have actually been a gangster spying on your family

Part of the reason why countries in CA suffer so much crime and gang related violence is due to the extreme negligence and corruption in most countries. You could be a criminal, and guess what? Most laws would actually protect you from harm and at most you would get 10 years in prison for the worst crimes imaginable. They go out, and restart their crime careers. In Guatemala alone, 97% of homicides go unpunished and unsolved. Crime thrives here because it's not only actively ignored, it is almost recommended for an easy life of money and power.
