Fantastic program. It is a crime to leave all of that history rotting away at the bottom of the quarry in Alderney. Bring it up and put it on show for future generations to see.

Best regards from Germany. May this Island find peace for ever. I have been to Jersey in the 90's as a kid. We were staying at a very nice local familys' house with kids at my age. Must have been 12 or 13 and speaking the best English in my family. We played football, tennis and I learned the cricket rules. My grandfather was 16 when he was forced into the wehrmacht. Wounded an traumatized as a POW. He was beaten up many times by British guards. Never hated the British and made a visit to London in his 70s. It makes me keep my faith in humanism to see people forgive and make their peace. Thanks Canal Island people.

This was a nice episode. Great stories. Also very nice to see how they restored these remarkable island fortifications and complex bunkers. Wish more people and historians could come together and restore more bunkers all over Europe for all generations to see. Open them up clean them and fix them. History should not roth away or be buried and forgotten.

Dan that was an excellent presentation. I agree the islands are fascinating. As a private pilot during the 1980's and 90's I visited several times and would liked to have retired there - except you need a lot of capital to do so. Your passion for history is infectious. Thanks Phil Robinson.
