Question, I have a VA claim decision 70% with an effective date of August 10, 2022. My intent to file date was June 12, 2023. Backpay was awarded to September 2023. Does that sound right? Or should they pay me back to August 2022, thanks

2017 filed for a service connected disability.
2018 received a low rating and immediately appealed to BVA and maintained regular doctor visits. (still do)
2020 had a BVA hearing with Judge.
2024 received significant increase on original disability ( now100%) and the VA gave me an effective date from this years' C&P exam they sent me to in February. 83 months of retro pay reduced to 3 months! HLR now

18 months ago a VA LAW JUDGE denied a claim because he said there was no diagnosis. He made a mistake, I had a diagnosis by a VA doctors 2 years before my hearing.

I had a diagnosis of Mild Cognitive Impairment in 2019 and 2 nexus letters, one from my VA neurologist.

I have an open appeal where I am pointing out the error of missing a diagnosis.

If they approve my claim, will I get the earlier effective date even though it's been over a year?

The sad part is the V.A. will totally make you go through hell even though you are 100% P&T. What does your firm do that a VSO doesn't and how much do you take?...10%...15%...20%???

I was discouraged to appeal for an earlier effective date because VA might lower my 100% rating. So, I wrote a letter to VA to withdraw my request for an earlier award date although I have evidence.

So my lawyer automatically filed a appeal for a earlier effective so I'm 100% totally
