2 yrs ago, I was diagnosed with breast cancer, and right after that covid. 2 mos before the cancer diagnosis, my gallbladder burst. I thought it was God telling me to get my affairs in order, so I began writing and choosing music for when my day came. I love this song. It makes me cry and always has. It makes me look at every aspect of my life. My life has been hard. I had suffered a lot of loss at a very young age, battled addiction, and was in an abusive family and marriage. However, I've always prevailed because of who I am. I love hard and pray often. I am now a cancer survivor and a survor of many other things. Music has gotten me thru life, and this song just says so much about who I really am. This was the song I chose, as my farewell to life as I knew it. Love life, Ifs truly a precious gift. ❤

This is the best version of 'Both Sides Now'..Judy Collins has the most mesmerising voice and sings this masterpiece with such emotion..I know many ppl love Joni Mitchell, but Judy's rendition is amazing..☮️💖

My mom once told me that she remembered listening to this song over and over in her college dorm room. She had a very tough life and whenever I hear this song I picture her as a college girl with bright eyes and a world of possibilities in front of her and then I cry.

At my present age of 72, I have "looked at life" from many, many angles. What's really amazing is how fast life has come and gone. Many people persuaded me to do "this and that", and I listened to them, but they didn't know any better, either. Today, I have true peace...because I listen only to myself, even though I consider other's opinion too. Stop living someone else's dreams and start living your own. George Eliot said..."It's never too late to become what you might have been".

My Mom is in frail. condition. She had me 50 years ago. This song reminds me of her when she was young and had her whole life in front of her! I've been with her during cancer and everything else. I don't want to let go of my Momma!💔✝️

beautiful orchestration in the way they did in the sixties. Separated violins, organ, bells, .... and the voice in the middle. A jewel of the past.

In my humble opinion this music is much better than music today. Does anyone agree?

I know Joni Mitchell wrote this, and I love her music, but I've always preferred Judy Collins version of the song. It seems, to me, more genuine and innocent. You really believe she is singing about the lessons she learned in life. I am probably in a minority but I would pick Judy to sing it over Joni every time.

Music like this has me realize just how lucky I was to be young during this period. I mean just look at what our youth is producing these days. This was during an actual golden age of music and thanks to technology, we can experience it again.

For Joni to write this at 21, and so poignantly capture the thoughts of someone in middle age, is truly amazing. She is a genius!

Judy was a year behind me at East High School in Denver. Lovely, lovely woman with a beautiful voice. Great to see she's still cooking. Marilyn VanDerber was a year ahead of me and she was Miss America. Not everybody can say they went to school with people who became famous!
