Blender - Workflow - Shortcuts, Pie Menus, Speed - English

On the BA forum, there is an interesting post about speed in Blender, with shortcuts, Pie menus etc.

I wanted to talk about this and show you how I see it and how I use the tools I have and I created.

It's my point of view so you can think different and it's totally normal ;)

So, in this video, I will show you that blender is as fast as other softwares and that you can create your own workflow using the strength of the software like we did on Speedflow or my other add-ons.

You can use pie menu editor to create your menus, pie menus or else.
You should, of course, learn blender first to know how it works.

About shortcuts, every software uses them, not only Blender and you have to learn them.

Every people is different, some prefer shortcuts, some other like me prefer pie menus, other, normal menus etc.

We have the chance to have the possibility to use whatever we want so, don't hesitate ;)

Couldn't agree more on your comment about trying to mimic your old workflow Cedric. I suffered that terribly when moving from Lightwave, once I "abandoned" that habit and focussed on Blender, it all came together very quickly.

Blender workflow once you learn it is probably the faster interface you can use for 3D software

In the RMB pie menu you link and have a space reserved for the equalize edges addon, which hasn't been updated for 2.8, do you know what happens with it, will it be updated?

Thx for addon) I have issue with pie menu 0.2.6 i can't change hotkey. Step for repeat problem: I assign a hotkey. Push the "save the user setting". after that the keys work. but as soon as I turn off and re-enable the program, all the addon settings are loaded without any changes.

Hey there mate! Thanks for your videos, I love them. I'm in the process of learning Blender and sometimes I forget which mode I'm in (Edit, Object...) so I wanted to ask, how do you display the mode and stats on the upper left corner of the viewport? It is really interesting and comfortable to have all the info there. Thanks a lot for your feedback

Bonjour Cédric. Le grand problème avec tes pie-menus, c'est qu'un débutant intéressé ne peut pas arriver à suivre tes excellentes vidéos tutoriels. Je m'explique. J'apprends beaucoup (pour ma part) en refaisant chaque opération qu'un youtubeur me montre dans ses vidéos. J'imite, donc, en quelque sorte... En général, ça se passe bien. Mais quand j'essaie de suivre tes vidéos, impossible : cela va trop vite... Je me dis souvent : "zut, le clic qu'il a fait dans le bouton de ce pie-menu, c'est où que je le trouve dans Blender version standard ?"
Puis-je me permettre une suggestion ? Ce serait super si tu pouvais nous faire un tutoriel pour mettre en place EXACTEMENT les mêmes pie-menus que tu utilises à partir d'une installation Blender standard de base. Ensuite, comme on aurait installé des pie-menus exactement identiques à ceux que tu utilises dans tes vidéos, on pourrait alors te suivre plus facilement. C'est tellement décourageant de vouloir faire à l'identique comme toi, mais de ne pas pouvoir le faire techniquement... Bonne journée à toi.

Anyone knows how to set "select edge" into your customized pie menu in blender 2.8 ?

How do you toggle the wire-frame on solid on and off? That does not seem part of Speedflow or Companion, so I presume you are using a key board shortcut. Also, I changed the keyboard shortcuts for Speedflow to Ctrl-Shift-/ because I'm left handed, is it wise to do that?

Hi Cedric! Are you pretending to update your pie menus to Blender 2.8? Becouse they pretend to change alots of keybinds and i think your Pie Menus is "a safe place to land" in 2.8

On the RMB menu i cant have the sculp menu you have... have you changed the action click to something else?

There are other menu's at work here, specifically Wazou's Pie Menus which are different than Wazou's RMB Pie Menus: check his Github page to find them.

I have a question, it looks like in the Array that the cubes are being dragged to increase the Array, but I can't figure out how other than rotating the wheel. Anyone have a tip?

You bring up pie menu's in Sculpt mode at 11:30 and you say you use "W" but I do not have this option in RMB and I have the most recent version?
