I’m a 68 year LA native who lives in the Hollywood Hills. I just wanted to point out how comforting, even in a small way, it is to see KTLA reporting during hard times in our city, county, and surrounding areas. I remember adjusting the rabbit ears on our portable B&W TV, as a kid in the 1960s, to get a sharper picture of Hal Fishman, Larry McCormick, and Stan Chambers on Channel 5.

We are facing big challenges in order to recover in LA county, but sometimes it’s the little things like a local news station from Hollywood that bring us closer to home and remind us we can do it.

Thanks for still being here KTLA 5.

Rain is needed but the truly sad thing is that the Mayor hasn't allowed a large number of people to return to their burned homes so they could gather what may still be salvageable. Now with the rain things that were still there could now be completely ruined. Or lost in mud slides. The Mayor needs to be recalled, this has been a nightmare, much of which could have been avoided. 😢

G'day. There is a difference between a Bulldozer and a Front-End Loader. 3:42 and 3:56

The weather this winter in L.A. is crazy. It reminds me of that song by James Taylor "Fire And Rain" 🎵"'I've seen fire and I've seen rain, I've seen sunny days that I thought would never end; I've seen lonely times when I could not find a friend, But I always thought that I'd see you again..."🎵

I hope everybody has a way to protect their cars from the hail! The damage even small hail can do to a car's bodywork is horrifying and to avoided of course, in other states people actually buy purpose-made anti-hail car covers to protect from hail. But here in southern calif is the last place i ever thought I'd need one of those.
In a pinch I'd cut some large cardboard boxes apart, (if you can find any dry ones!), place them in trash bags to water-proof them, put them on the top surfaces of my car, then cover it with the car cover I already own; and hope for the best -

From fighting fires one week, to fighting rain the next
You cannot make this up

weeks later, while driving at 30mph around the curve of a mountainroad, the road which existed yesterday has already slid away. LAPD won't drive for you.

Terrible. If you put the camera lower the flooding looks worse.

We had SLEET but not hail. Sleet is frozen raindrops. Hail is much larger.

When we were younger, like 40 yrs ago, our greatest fear for Cali was the earthquakes. We were told in School that Cali would slide off into the ocean. We never dreamed it would be from wildfires first, then massive rain after that that would cause it to slide into the ocean. We pray for you all that this won't happen but after your Golden Globe jokes and your ingratitude to God for years I don't know if it's possible to save you. All you can do is pray and if you won't do Run.
