THE JDM IMPORTING PROCESS EXPLAINED: How to import a Japanese car yourself

Kick rocks Duncan because today Netgear is going to tell you how to import a JDM car or kei truck or motocompo or whatever you want yourself, without having to rely on a US-based importer to do it for you. You pick your JDM dream car from Japanese auto auctions, you pay for overseas shipping, you do all the paperwork, and bam, you're whipping a Toyota Sera on US highways and there's not a thing anybody can do about it. You're untouchable baby. You're a JDM importing GOD. If you want to stay a mortal meatbag don't watch this video because you're going to ascend today just like your dad's bag.
Big thanks to @PacificCoastAuto for not being home when I stole all these clips

Heads up! I insured mine through Progressive. The woman literally added 0's to the end of the Japanese chassis number and put it in the system like that lol. They hooked it up.

i buy used stuff from japan from time to time and I can vouch for the majority of the time most of their stuff is very clean and like new. sometimes they even include stuff for free, not sure if it is intentional. but they live in a really small space so I would understand if they wanted to get rid of things fast.

I did my registration in Missouri and they just ran the VIN number into the system and gave me the registration. They didn't even check all that 😂. They where like. Ok i guess 🤷🏻‍♂️ here. Super easy

My 2 cents on the Hagerty bit: I moved to middle of fuckin' nowhere Ohio 6 months ago (introvert life and a computer nerd. It works better for me this way) and while I was changing providers I sampled going through Hagerty. Same damn stipulations for my Super Coupe. Parades and car shows only. I'm sorry, but I want to actually DRIVE my project car.

Knowing Canada has been importing JDM legends for 20 years, there just can’t be a lot of gems left 😢

Great stuff, thanks for the knowledge! Importing a vehicle from is something I would love to do one day, and with living in Houston, you definitely made it feel not impossible.

Great information, I have flashback to the Kalvin Malli skyline that looked very clean outside: but full of bondo, when I think of importing. But, I think kei cars would tend to be better bet and just ignore cars from northern provinces. Thanks for this.
