I removed the lacing material from inside the she with a sharp blade. It was glued and stitched. I skipped the first holes and started from the second lacing holes. I have a bunion so it made the pain unbearable. But since my mod, no more blisters and pain.

That's a shame you haven't got on with the upper so far. The upper on the Pro 2 was awesome and if they had that on this shoe it would be insane in my opinion.

I find the Pro 3 more stable than the previous version and it's terrific to run in. I have so far put about 30 miles in which has been at a variety of paces from 9:00/mi down to 6:26/mi and it's been fantastic.

I got mine for £125 so definitely agree at $125, for you guys in the US, it's a great shoe for the money 👍

I have Adios Pro 3 and like you bought it at discount for $175. Tomorrow, I will be running in them 15 miles to evaluate for my oncoming Houston Marathon. I also have Takumi Sen 8 which is also full Lightstrike Pro and I love doing my track speed workouts in them. I was able to get two additional pairs of TS8 for $72 each. Lightstrike Pro foam gets better over time.

In addition to Adios Pro 3, I also have Endorphin Pro 3 which I bought for a super deal of $136 (very short Saucony Amazon sale) That is also in the consideration for Houston as well. I will probably use it for my final 20-mile run before the race.

So, those two shoes will be up against my previous marathon star, Alphafly v1.

Regarding training in carbon plated shoes, the jury is still out. I can't say I had PF due to carbon plate, but I think stiff carbon plate on Endorphin Pro 1 inflamed my PF injury further after a hard run HM (which I PR'ed). It took many months to heal. At least for easy and recovery runs I am avoiding very stiff carbon plated shoes. Most of my track workouts are in non-plated Liberate Nitro or TS8 with more flexible rods (fiberglass or plastic).

IMHO, at slower speeds carbon plate does not add too much, rather it is acting as a stability element against the soft foam (ZoomX, PWRRUN PB). Lightstrike Pro foam itself is not very soft so Adidas gets away with using lighter rods instead.

Tim I am very concerned with the same issue you’re seeing with the pressure points on the top of the foot and that just from trying the shoe on! My pressure point appears to be from the material buckling when cinching the lacing down (at least at first blush), so I’m going to really be playing with the lacing before going on the first run. While I’m sure I could put a patch of moleskin right where the pressure point is, I feel like a shoe needs to work out of the box without having to deal with inherent problems through accommodations/alterations. I don’t know. Will take it for first run in the next week or so—maybe even tomorrow, so will wait and see. It may go straight back up on eBay. I hope not since I’ve enjoyed the Pro2 and the 3 really does feel better underfoot except for that problem.

I never was going to buy this shoe, but I'm glad I did. I have many running shoes, some which really stand out for me, but my best splits were done in this shoe. I'm sorry you had these issues, but this was one of the most comfortable, and smoothest shoes I have ever tried.

i used to run a lot on carbon assist shoe and it had caused many injuries from ankles to hip. I used carbon shoe sparingly now. However I like to use the nylon on non-carbon shoes 1-2 times a week. Only carbon shoe for racing and parkrun.

Thanks for the video and honest review. I don’t run in carbon plated shoes at all because (1) I need stability running shoes and (2) I have a lot of room to get faster through training without the shoe tech. 😊

I agree the tongue should be thicker and it would be perfect. However, I've already 2 fast marathons in these with no issues. My suggestion to you is wear a thicker pair of socks and lots of vaseline on the areas will for sure solve all your problem.. Keep running and inspiring us, Tim.

I went .5 down (due to length) and i also did that so i dont have to tighten laces too tight to get a proper lockdown . My main problem is the void up front that Adidas says people do not use guess im the exception .

Hi Tim, i bought the pros3 but unfortunatly i had to send them back just after my first run because of Kind of crackles on the left one ( energy rods ? )...but i felt them more stable and versatile than the 2s ...a lot of energy return with that really dynamic foam...but that it i send them back but not ordered them a second time ...will wee...i ordered something different lol ...the Superblast from Asics lol ...hope you will review them ...🎄🎅🎄😁🇫🇷

Thanks for the video, Tim. I have a similar problem with this shoe, It's very uncomfortable at the top, where you tie the shoe. I've tried different ways to tie it but it's hard to get a lock down without feeling pain! I never had this problem with the RC Elite v2. I have done daily training with supershoes and I enjoy alternating with normal shoes. I simply enjoy the changes.
I run easy miles with rebel v3, workouts with adios pro 3, long runs with prime x strung. What are your thoughts on the SC Elite v3?
