Adidas Adios Pro 3 after 102 miles - Run the Shoes You’re in Part 2 #adidas

RUN THE SHOE YOU'RE IN is a summer series in which I quit buying new shoes. Instead, I run and review the shoes already in my closet. What an idea!

The first topic for this summer series is my ANTI-SHOE ROTATION. This is the opposite of my ideal shoe rotation if I had to build one with the running shoes I already own. In Part 1, I covered the Daily Trainer:

In Part 2, we cover The Race Day shoe. Now, when I say "we," I mean myself and Other Me. Other Me is...a character. I have no words for him.

NEXT WEEK: I am going to return to a Podcast format - interviewing Other Me. I feel like it's going to bomb but I am going to shoot it anyway because I take a lot of risks when the stakes are very low.

The Adios Pro 3 does not have the rizz. Classic nice guy. I will say this was one of the most entertaining shoe reviews I've watched. Really enjoy the twist of an Anti-Shoe rotation. Keep it up Andrew 👊

This is the best Adios Pro 3 rant I've ever seen. The struggle w/ that f-n lateral divot is real. The Takumi's have the same issue BTW. It's just way less pronounced since the cutout/foam depth is so much shallower on the Takumi. But what pains me most is the terrible ZERO-stretch upper. Combine this w/ the horrendous lacing system with PINHOLE SIZED eyelets preventing the laces from budging even a 0.01 mm, it makes getting in & out of the shoe a HUGE HUGE CHORE!! It's so bad it makes we wanna avoid wearing the damn shoe. The insanely tight lacing system means having to FULLY unlace... which in turn leads to having to stop & re-adjust the lacing pressure a minimum of 2-3 times at the start of every run. It's just TOO MUCH HASSLE! I just wanna f-n RUN. Nobody wants a 5 minute production every time they step into a shoe.

Where has this video been? I've been literally having this same conversation with myself (because my wife doesn't listen) to convince me to NOT buy ANOTHER shoe when I have 21 still not retired. (more if you count the ones I retired early to convince myself to replace them....)

It’s funny. I got the adios pro 3 convinced that for a marathon racer I wanted a set it and forget it shoe, not something that made me wanna run “fast, exciting paces” just lock into a comfortably hard pace for the marathon. Problem I’m finding is, I’m finding I want a shoe that makes it feel fun and fast. That probably does not make sense.

Yo Midlife Runner!! I’m also a over 50YO runner!!! Lol. Your videos are very informative, funny and entertaining. It’s great to see someone doing something different! But what do I know, I’m a JEROAB. So I need some advice. Are the ASICS Magic Speed a good shoe for a half Marathon. I want to try a plated shoe for racing without breaking the bank. Right now I’m just running 5K’s and 10k’s in the NB Rebel v3. Help a brother out. Let me know. Thanks and keep on dropping the awesome vids.

I got the adios pro 3 half size smaller than my usual size. Length was is perfect, a bit of room in the front but I can't get proper lockdown on it, when I tight it to be locked enough, then my midfoot gets chocked. I should have gone TTS, regretting in now cause the shoe is fun. I'm still not sure if it will be my full marathon shoe

1) the elf ears are cute and fun 2) v3 is FAR superior to the v2, IMO. Sizing on the v2 was way off for me - long and narrow. also, midsole ride of the v2 was stuff and harsh for me, I was always amazed when people could use it for a full marathon. will definitely use v3 for upcoming half and full marathons. 3) heck yes on the not wanting to be full-time on youtube -there's a whole class of shoetubers desperate for likes and follows and it's just frankly kinda pathetic at this point
