Really enjoying your stand-alone videos. I find so many little tricks and tips get lost in longer videos.

Easy-off Foaming Oven Cleaner is my go-to. Works in 15 minutes and leaves the parts smelling lemony fresh lol.

I was always a little doubtful about this method, but used it for the first time today. Fantastic result, thank you!

Useful tip, thanks, I've got some to do for a 1/10 scale RC kit - I was dreading it!

Try Harpic max 10. Only £1. Has acid percentage which helps with more stubborn chrome. Then thoroughly wash it off. Cheers, have fun with your models and best wishes, 👍😎Pete 🤓

I use same method. I would recommend protective gloves for such a stuff. Subscribed your second channel by the way!

Just my 5 cents: Make sure you wash the parts well with soap and water after the chrome has been taken off. You don't want that gell-like stuff left in the nooks and crannies, believe me... :)

Off to get some bleach I go. Working on a fujimi super hauler and need to remove chrome from about 30 or so parts. 🙄

Quick question Paul…How do you remove the clear coat? Some chrome parts has a thick layer of clear coat which on a white plastic is visible as yellow-ish color. Sometimes those thick layers cover’s the details and if you need to rechrome the gloss black layer will add even more thickness

Studies show 60% of the time it works every time

For those here in the United States we don't have that product in stores so just use EZ Off Lemon oven cleaner in the yellow can. This will also remove the clear lacquer undercoating beneath the chrome. Do not buy the blue can, it will not work. You can also use Castrol Purple Power, Westleys Bleech White, Ammonia, Liquid Drano, and Windex. Wear protective gloves and a face mask while doing any of these!!!

The other question is how do you get rid of the thick varnish underneath the chrome to get down to the bare plastic?...
