Through this video I'll talk about:
- Why I believe the Wing Chun critics are misguided by the MMA scene
- Why Wing Chun likely is the most supperior martial art in the world
- What makes Wing Chun so different from other styles
- How you actualy become a Smarter Fighter and what that really means

This is not about right or wrong. It's about what is most ideal depending on the situation.

I've trained in Wing Chun for almost twenty years now and having used it in real life can say it has saved my ass countless times

Exactly this is true.. I'm practicing and learning wing chun under the great master samuel kwok.. This art is always very effective specially in short range and can be used perfectly for ground level too.. Also I'm practicing kali as a weapon art and I can see there are so many similarities between these two styles.. I'm from Sri Lanka..❤

My latest teacher, Jerry Yeung (from PVTGroup), who is a student of Wong Shun-Leung, also raised similar thoughts in his book:
If you can constantly stay in your advantageous position and distance, why bother going to the ground or outside? WC is never about being on the ground or dealing with opponents at a long distance. First, know what is your advantageous area, and then direct/force/invite your opponent to play with you within that area so you can constantly remain the advantage, eventually, leading your opponent to follow your direction (You can do whatever you want as your opponent can only react, follow what you leading them to 獨行其事,屈敵從己)

Very nice video. I would like to learn the raw aspect of martial arts instead of modern 'fitness' version of it. Glad to see some people are looking for that 'real' version.

You don’t need to master wing chun to be successful in a street fight. And it’s no different from any art form. Be it Martial, musical or creative. You continue to improve through proper guidance and practice. Mastering Wing Chun is the same. After the best tuition available, I can not say I have mastered it after 46 years. I love it. I continue to find something new and improve.

Thank you for this comprehensive lecture in my opinion experts lifers in martial arts eventually end up picking 1 of 3 arts Tai chi Brazilian jiu-jitsu or Wing Chun based on their personal preference these three arts have a no end value in self-improvement their depth goes beyond a man's lifetime

Admittedly, I'm a proponent of muaythai. May I ask who were your muaythai teachers? How long and how intensively you trained muaythai?

A few top level mma / UFC fighters have already adopted Wing Chun into their training. It helped, but it didn't revolutionise their ability.

The martial arts is a journey. There's many paths that are all striving for the same location. But no one path is right for every practicioner.

Superior? Be careful with your words. I'd put good money on most boxers and wrestlers with 2+ years training getting past your tapping range.

Also, I personally found while training Wing Chun that they have a weakness for strikes coming from the outside because most things are focused down the centre.

I see no evidence whatsoever that Wing Chun is such a great martial art as the Wing Chun enthusiasts always proclaim. They tend to not provide much evidence either.

Bjj had alot of the same concepts, controlling the opponents limbs/range of motion

how to master wing chun... practice practice practice.. touch hands with other people, refine and practice practice practice some more, then spar with people outside of wing chun, refine and practice practice practice...
rinse and repeat ad-nauseum

I'm with you but you realize people are going to challenge you now right?

I trained some wing chun for a short time and I dropped it because it only ever teaches ONE punch ever. The fighting methodology is far too limited. Bruce Lee was right.

Effective for what, in a cage, its pointless. In a corridor, wanting to stay in your feet.
