Ed Sullivan always had great guests on his TV show, on one show he had the Beatles on the show, I was 7 yrs old, and this show changed my life, it was the night I became a Big fan of the Beatles, from that time on I couldn't hear music enough, loved the Ed Sullivan Show!

My parents watched every week. Sometimes I took a break from playing and watched too.
I was a very wee sprout when The Beatles debuted. I can kind of remember it. Mostly I remember the screaming 😱 🤣 RIP Ed 🙏 There will never be another like you.

The Ed Sullivan Show was by far the best variety show ever on TV. I was 13 when the Beatles were on. Nothing was the same after that. RIP Ed.

His show in the 60s was a perfect marriage of amazing music and psychedelic color TV production to a new audience experiencing both things at the same time!

Fun fact: in 1970, there was a show called "Lancelot Link: Secret Chimp" which had an Ed Sullivan parody character called "Ed Simeon" (I don't know how to spell it), who had a voice and phisique inspired by Sullivan

Could watch 15 minutes then it was off to Sunday nite church. Mom knew Matthew Mark Luke John were more important than John Paul George and Ringo.

I'm glad he didn't suffer the classic version of Ankylosing Spondylitis some people get to. Pretty stoved up though. Smoking didn't help put it in remission him.
