Living in Virginia, USA.. that's about mid east coast. It has basically turned kind of subtropical. We still get some cold spots in the winter but nothing like 20 years ago. We've always had AC. Hearing that these folks don't have AC makes me scared for them. Y'all need to buy some big ass floor fans right away. Don't flirt with heat stroke. Drink water, get in water, whatever you gotta do... don't try to tough out heat stroke symptoms. It might be the last thing you try to tough out.

As someone living in Vegas, where it casually hits 115, I rolled my eyes when it said it reached 100. But that’s England. That’s kinda weird, the fact people don’t have ACs normally says enough ig.

Most homes don't have AC? Oh boy, this is not gonna be fun.

My mother grew up in a house in Miami with no AC decades ago. That's a whole nother level of hell.

Fr tho, stay hydrated and stay in the shade at all times. Keep a cool damp towel and stay safe.

Lemoore Naval Air Station in the California's Central Valley south of Fresno has 2, 10, 000 ft runways. The runways have rubber expansion joints to allow for high temps.

As someone in Phoenix, AZ. I don't understand how the runway buckled.... a plane landing at SkyHarbour just flew overhead.... it's 113 today.

In America we call this phenomenon, summer.

Are we going to blame Biden for this one also? 😂

Good call Luton! Please don’t feel guilty about calling in sick until this heatwave lets up, folks working outside. We need you alive more than we need anything else!

People apparently dont realize UK and Europe are in a geographical area of mild cool climate. No hurricanes. No extreme heat, not really extreme cold either, just day and night temperatures between 30s, 40s, 50s, 60, 70s, and maybe 80s on hottest days. It's not really comparable to American temps.

For all the people snarking that it's hotter every day where you live, did your area have 1000+ people die from that heat? Is your area as humid as the countries mentioned, which plays a large factor? Are there other differences you're not considering?

In America, particularly the Midwest, our summers are extremely humid.

Unless you've experienced a humid 100 degrees, you don't know what being hot and Miserable is all about.

I'll take 115 degree dry heat over 90 degree humid heat any day of the week..

Also, most states in America not only have hotter summers than the UK, but also colder winters.

America's seasons are extreme.

That's everyday in Florida, but with 💯% humidity.
