The former Chief Doctor for British Cycling and Team Sky has been found guilty of ordering a banned performance-enhancing drug, "knowing or believing" it would be used to dope a rider.

The charges against Richard Freeman date backy to 2011, a year before the London Olympics. The British cycling team enjoyed huge success, during his time as the sport's top medical official.

He admitted 18 out of 22 charges, at a medical tribunal.

Clive Myrie presents BBC News at Ten reporting by sports editor Dan Roan.

You can bet if this was a russian doc Britain would be calling for Russia to get a lifetime ban from cycling.

But when I kept saying that team Sky are cheats everyone used to have a go at me, calling me crazy in all these comments

Cycling has been build on doping, some teams are clean but have no chance, it's more of a race of pharmaceutical companies other than to race fairly

Could we just pause for a minute and appreciate the ingenious explanation by "helping treat his mate's erectile dysfunction" lol

No wonder we did so well in the London Olympics

Everybody knows most, if not all, top professional athletes are doping... Feel sorry for this guy taking the hit when there were obviously much more people involved!

I like betting on who will be the next professional cycling team to be found doping, it’s more honest than who’s going to win the races!

Cycline is just one very dirty sport from the view of PED use

They not only didn't use the stuff they didn't even think about it, now that's pretty darn clean. BS

Here we go again. Are there any honest national sporting associations that have not been implicated and convicted in unsportsmanlike antics? I give up following these cheaters. It seems that the more skillful the competitors the greater the likelihood of wrongdoing. Sad.

Every serious cyclist is cheating. Let's stop pretending.

Dave Brailsford should carry the can for this and lose his knighthood and face prosecution for cheating..We now need to know which riders cheated and they should be stripped of their own titles, they are an utter disgrace to cycling, and as for Shane Sutton he is a spineless liar.

No doubt a no-name, since retired, cyclist will become the sacrificial lamb for British cycling.
Everybody knows the real cheats are those winning the medals and grand

every year the cyclists are doing more and more spectacular performances, it's like there are 30 or 40 Eddy Merckx nowadays and they are at a peak all year round and not just for a few months it's amazing...it's not having 4 weetabix and a steak that's doing it either.

if a woman can take steroids to become a man, why can't a man take steroids to become even manlier.

Guess what. No one gives a damn. Allowing athletes to dope should be accepted and embraced. However you can impose maximum levels athletes are allowed to dope to.
